Chapter 240
Xavier immediately called back when he looked at that text message. However, no one answered his call.
Annoyed, he deleted the message.
Yvette
was already lying in bed by the time Xavier returned to Dewberry Manor.
After taking a shower, Xavier slipped into bed and pulled her into his arms. He started showering Yvette with kisses at the thought of Tristan having a child,
Yvette couldn’t stop him at all.
The next morning. Yvette listened to the sound of water from the bathroom and got out of bed. She dressed in her usual clothes, freshened up, and waited for Xavier with a small bag on her back.
It wasn’t long before Xavier came out, dressed in casual clothes which made him look much more relaxed. When they walked out of the manor, it was cold as a drizzle fell.
As they were about to leave for Fortian Manor, Xavier’s phone rang. Seeing it was Daphne calling, he hung up the call. Shortly after, a message came in. “Xav, please answer the phone. Something major happened.”
Yvette had planned to expose Daphne’s true colors at the opening ceremony, not now. She hadn’t expected Daphne to be so eager to reach out to Xavier
“Answer it. It must be urgent,” Yvette suggested considerately.
Xavier answered the phone when it rang again. After a brief conversation, he turned to Yvette and said, There’s a problem with the opening ceremony. I need to go over there. I’ll come to Fortian Manor as soon as I’m done.”
What kind of situation would require the CEO of a company to be there in person? Yvette sneered Inwardly, knowing it was only because it was about Daphne.
She responded with an unusual nonchalance. “Alright, Noah and I will wait for you at Fortian Manor.”
“This time, I won’t wait for you anymore,” she thought.
Yvette’s eyes sparkled as if they held the stars and the sea, making her look exceptionally beautiful.
Xavier suddenly hugged her,
As she leaned on his shoulder, she thought about how this time she would leave forever. In that instant, she didn’t resent him as much for his past coldness.
“Yvette…” Xavier wanted to say something, but he kept it in.
Yvette didn’t mind. Looking up at the sky, she noticed some snowflakes mixed with the rain. “Xavier, it’s snowing.”
A few snowflakes that fell on Xavier’s shoulder quickly melted into droplets.
Xavier released her and draped his coat over her shoulders. “See you later.”
“Okay.
With that, he got into another car to head to the opening ceremony.

After he left, Yvette also got into her car and went to Fortian Manor. As she had Xavier’s permission, no one at the gate stopped her.
The opening ceremony was in the film city. On the way Xavier looked at Yvette’s profile photo and typed,” When I get back, let’s have a wedding ceremony again!
He was about to send it when he felt it wasn’t right. After several edits, he finally settled on “Wait for me.”
