Instead of going to the airport, Xavier went to Fortian Manor. He had someone take Noah's used toothbrush to the hospital for identification.
Meanwhile, Kiki and Zachary had already boarded the plane. They weren't aware that someone was following them.
Looking out at the white expanse outside, Kiki felt relieved. "We can finally live peacefully from now on."
Zachary didn't respond, seemingly lost in thought.
Thinking that he might be missing his friends from kindergarten, Kiki reassured him, saying, "Don't worry. Darren and I will come to visit you."
Zachary snapped out of his thoughts and looked at her. "Okay."
Before Kiki could say more, Zachary picked up a newspaper.
The headline news was still about Daphne, and it seemed the buzz wouldn't die down for at least a week. After all, the public knew Daphne as Xavier's girlfriend.
Zachary glanced at the newspaper casually but quickly lost interest. He covered his face with it for a nap.
Meanwhile, Kiki looked at the child beside her, thinking that he was unusually mature for a child. It made sense why he had never mentioned wanting to find his father or go back home during his stay in Tirion.
Now that he was returning abroad, he seemed calm and composed.
Since they were still several hours away from reaching Mayest, the port city where Yvette was, Kiki also dozed off.
Eight hours later, they arrived in Mayest. Due to the time difference, it was nighttime there.
Yvette had been waiting there for some time. Upon seeing the figures of a child and an adult approaching, she hurried over.
"Zac! Kiki!"
She ran up to Zachary and hugged him tightly.
Zachary had a rosy face as he was enveloped in Yvonne's embrace. "Mom!"
"Let's go. Let's head home first."
…
At home, Viola and the nanny were preparing dinner, with Noah helping on the side.
"Grandma, you forgot to add salt again."
