Chapter 279
Chapter 279
Xavier pinched the bridge of his nose as he asked Leonard in the lounge, “Where did you get those photos?”
When he had been with Yvette back then, he hadn’t let anyone take photos of them at all.
Leonard didn’t hide the truth at all. “From the surveillance cameras.”

Ever since he had lost a lawsuit once, he hadn’t taken part in a fight he wasn’t confident about winning.
Xavier was in disbelief. There were so many photos. It wouldn’t have been easy for Leonard to get all of them from the cameras in just a short amount of time.
“I’m sorry, Ms. Torres. You can’t go in there.”
“I’m not going in. Please tell Leonard to come out. I want to see him.”
They heard Kiki speaking with the bodyguard outside. Leonard stood up. “I’ll handle this.”
“Sure,” Xavier didn’t stop him. He knew how ambitious Leonard was, and the latter definitely wouldn’t let a woman stop him from getting all the potential fame. The lawyers from both parties would definitely be the center of the spotlight during the lawsuit.
Suddenly, there was a loud and clear slap coming from the hallway. Leonard stood still and didn’t retaliate. Kiki’s hand trembled a little as she slowly put down her hand.
“Is that enough?” he coldly asked.
Kiki’s eyes were red, and she asked, “Since you’re Xavier’s lawyer, don’t you know the kind of person he is? Do you know how much my friend has suffered?
“He wasn’t willing to touch her, but his mother kept pushing her to get pregnant. She forced Yvette to take all kinds of medicine and do all kinds of tests.
“If that wasn’t enough, she loved him with all her heart, but he kept thinking about another woman. He even personally destroyed everything her father had built. He had never laid a hand on her before, but what he did was way more cruel and shameless than hitting a woman!”
She listed out everything Xavier had done, hoping that Leonard would side with justice like he had when he had been younger.
Unfortunately, people changed. He coldly interrupted her, “Ms. Torres, I’m a lawyer, not the embodiment of justice. I’m just trying to do my job.”
Kiki’s eyes teared up. “But… But you used to say you wanted to be a lawyer to get justice for the poor.”
When Leonard heard that, he scoffed. “Aren’t you a little too innocent, Ms. Torres? I only said that to trick ignorant girls like you. I did all of that because of your family. Since your father refused to accept me, there’s no reason for me to keep up the act.”
Then, he said in front of the shocked Kiki, “If you want to win, show me what you have. Stop expecting me to let you win just because you’re crying.”
He struck where it hurt the most. Kiki froze there and couldn’t help thinking how ridiculous she was.
