Chapter 361
Terrence hadn’t expected Yvette to refuse his request and lecture him to boot. Infuriated, he gripped her shoulder harshly.
“Why talk so much if you don’t want to help?” he spat.
“I knew you were unreliable. You might be content with wasting away, but I refuse to be like you! I was the grandson of a tycoon, and I’ll follow in our grandfather’s footsteps. I’ll restore Snyder Group. You don’t deserve our family name!”
With that, Terrence pushed Yvette away forcefully. She stumbled back, nearly falling to the ground, but a strong arm caught her.
“Are you okay?” Xavier’s deep voice sounded in her ear.
Yvette wasn’t able to tell him to go back inside in time.
Terrence was stunned to see Xavier there. “Xavier, w–what are you doing here? If you’re here, why did you tell me to bring Yvvy to Titan Corporation to talk?”
Terrence was completely confused; he couldn’t discern that the man he’d met earlier was Jeremiah.
Xavier couldn’t be bothered to explain it to him. “Scram!” he commanded coldly.
Terrence lost all his previous bravado and fled.
After he left, Yvette felt a slight pain in her abdomen, possibly due to the stress and physical exertion from earlier.
“Xavier, my stomach hurts,” she cried, panic filling her eyes as she clutched Xavier’s shirt.
The pain was secondary; she was terrified something might happen to the baby. She remembered how she’d almost had a miscarriage and
lost Noah and Zachary
Xavier held her tightly. “Til take you to the hospital right now?
“Okay.”
He quickly called for help, and within a minute, a nearby driver and with a car.
On the way to the hospital, Yvette held onto Xavier’s clothes with one hand, while the other hand gently rested on her stomach. What she let now was the kind of fear only those who’d experienced pregnancy could understand.
“Baby, please be okay,” she quietly prayed.
When they finally arrived at the hospital, the doctor gave Yvette a thorough examination. Xavier waited outside, making a call to have someone look into Terrence.
He’d overheard Terrence telling Yvette that his “brother–in–law” had asked him to convince her to meet him.
Who could that be besides Jeremiah? What did Jeremiah want with Yvette? Why couldn’t Xavier remember anything?
Unfortunately, he still hadn’t fully recovered his memory.
