Just as Xavier was about to say something, Yvette stopped him. "If they don't mind redecorating the place, we should just let them do it. After all, it'll be nice to change it up a little for the new year. Please thank Madam Shannon for me, Luther."
When Luther heard that, he frowned. "Sure."
Noah quietly enjoyed the pierogies with a cold gaze. Yara had just been locked up, and Shannon was here to torture Yvette next. This time, there was no way he would watch from the sidelines while Yvette got bullied.
After making up his mind, he put down his cutlery and said, "Mom, I'm done eating now. May I go out for a walk?"
Yvette placed her cutlery down too. "Sure. I'll come with you."
"Mom, didn't you say you still needed to prepare for Christmas? I can go by myself, and I'll be back in no time. It'll be fine!" He spoke tactfully.
"In that case, can Mr. Septer tag along?" After Noah had snuck into Lane Mansion behind Yvette's back, she didn't dare to let him go out by himself anymore.
He said with a sigh, "Mom, it's almost Christmas. You should just give him a day off."
At first, Yvette had been planning to let Ray head home for some rest. However, he said he didn't need it since his family had passed away.
"I'll accompany you," said Xavier. Noah wanted to reject the offer, but Xavier didn't give him the chance at all. Instead, he just picked up the boy and left the house.
"I don't need—no!"
Yvette watched as Noah and Xavier went out. Once they were outside, Noah started swinging his tiny arms at Xavier. "Why do you like being a busybody so much? Let me go now. I still have things to do!"
Then, Xavier slapped him on the butt. Noah started crying immediately. "How dare you hit me? As expected of a stepfather! I want my actual father—"
Before he could finish his words, Xavier covered his mouth. "You're too noisy."
