The next day, Aaron called Yvette as soon as his plane landed at the airport. "I'm back, Yvvy! Did you bring your two kids to welcome and take me to dinner?"
Yvette was speechless. His popularity would plummet instantly if she were to take her kids to pick him up from the airport. She would also be bashed online by his many fangirls.
"We'll make plans once you settle in," she said before ending the call.
…
Mark handed Aaron's information to Xavier in his newly-established IM Enterprise building. He said, "This is Aaron's profile, Mr. Lane. He's a celebrity with a large fan base both overseas and domestically.
"His fan base is pretty evenly split between men and women, making him an ideal spokesperson for our new product. Besides, if we have him on board, I believe IM Enterprise will quickly become well-known in Tirion."
Xavier agreed and told Mark to work on securing the deal with him. After that, he asked, "Are you sure the paternity test you submitted back then wasn't tempered with?"
Mark pondered for a bit upon hearing his words. "The only thing that could have been tampered with was the biological sample—Noah's toothbrush that we took."
"Could it have been swapped by someone?"
"The only possibility of that is Noah swapped it himself. The nannies all have clean backgrounds—they wouldn't have swapped the toothbrush." Those words alone made Mark start doubting himself.
He said, "Don't worry, Mr. Lane. The biological samples I collected this time are definitely accurate—I even prepared three copies to be tested by different institutions each."
Xander nodded.
After Mark left, he began arranging for someone to invite Aaron to join them as their company's celebrity spokesperson.
He had assumed that money was a persuasive factor, yet he hadn't expected his colleague to be met with a flat rejection.
The colleague reported, "Aaron just returned to the country, Mr. Xyrax. He's received countless offers beside ours, but he's turned them all down. He said he prefers having his freedom rather than having to work with any companies, regardless of the amount offered."
Mark's biggest headache was dealing with people who couldn't be swayed by money. It was just like Ray back then—he'd remained unmoved even when Xavier had offered him a remuneration higher than Mark's own salary.
