Chapter 75
Daphne looked down at the little boy clinging to her legs. She narrowed her eyes discreetly, bent down, and smiled warmly.
“Yep, that’s me. Why are you here on your own, little one? Where are your parents?”
She gazed at the child in front of her, noting his well–defined features and mesmerizing eyes. It was obvious that his parents weren’t ordinary people.
Zachary looked up at her innocently and said solemnly, “My housekeepers said you took my daddy away from me. Can you please give my daddy back to me?”
Daphne stiffened. The socialites around them couldn’t help but glance over, and their eyes were filled with disdain. People like them detested those rising starlets the most.
“How shameless!”
“She already has Mr. Lane, but she’s still seducing other men?”
“No wonder Mr. Lane didn’t Marry her. A woman like her is only good for fooling around with.”
Daphne felt utterly humiliated. suppressing her boiling anger, she crouched down and looked straight into Zachary’s eyes. “You must be mistaken, little one. I don’t know you, and I don’t know your father.” After saying that, she leaned closer to Zachary and placed her hands on his shoulders. Lowering her voice, she threatened him.
“You little brat, if you spout any more nonsense, I’ll use you as fish food. Got it?”
Daphne had assumed that he was just another child, but little did she know that Zachary was a drama king as well.
The next thing she knew, he started to hit her hands vigorously and sobbed, “I was wrong, ma’am. Please don’t pinch me! It hurts so much…”
She hastily let go of him. “When did I pinch you? There were reporters present who quickly recorded
the scene.
Tears streamed down his cheeks as he apologized. “I’m sorry, ma’am. I didn’t mean to touch you. Please don’t hit me or use me as bait to feed the fish…”
Daphne wished she could cover his mouth. “I didn’t! He’s lying!” she desperately tried to explain
herself.
More and more people looked over. Among them was Tristan, who was forced to meet another woman. He recognized the child at a glance. It was the little rascal who had pulled a prank on him at Imperial Heights.
The woman beside him spoke up, “How could she lay her hands on a child? That woman’s terrible!”
Tristan recalled that the kid could be his illegitimate child, so he couldn’t let him get beaten. Hence, he hurried over.

Zachary was about to continue with his performance to make Daphne’s true colors the headline story
tomorrow.
However, he hadn’t expected to see an imposing figure striding toward him. What was that bad guy doing here?
“I messed up!” Zachary cursed inwardly. He was too short, and there were too many people around them, so he failed to notice that Tristan was there as well.
