James had his VIP elevator. Just as he pressed the button, he heard someone call him.
"Mr. James, it's my first day at work. I'll treat our colleagues to a dinner. Do you want to join us?" Jenny stared at him, and her eyes were filled with anticipation.
"I don't have time. You guys should have your time." James said as he glanced at her indifferently.
The elevator arrived. After he entered, he closed the door without hesitation.
...
His movements were too fast, and Jenny watched helplessly as the elevator door closed. She felt a sense of disappointment.
Although everyone had lowered their heads to pack their things, they noticed Jenny's actions and whispered amongst themselves. From Jenny's tone, it seemed that she was a friend of James.
Unfortunately, James was already engaged. She was still shameless trying to get close to him.
Although Jenny did not hear the gossips of the crowd, she felt uncomfortable when she saw the looks in everyone's eyes. But her face was still brimming with a smile as she asked everyone to book a restaurant.
...
Kara was in the art studios. With some senior schoolmates around, there was not much that needed her to do.
When Larry was in a good mood, he would give them a lecture. Kara was a slow learner and would write down a lot of notes in her notebook.
After class, she was going to ask Larry some questions, but Larry felt tired, so he asked Donald to answer her questions.
Kara thought of James's warning. Although she felt that he was being unreasonable, she still instinctively distanced herself from Donald.
"Kara, James inexplicably treated me as a love rival. Do you also treat me as a love rival for no reason?" Donald felt that she was awkward and stopped.
...
Kara didn't understand his question for a moment. She blinked her big watery eyes. She looked so charming now.
"No, I'm sorry, Donald." She lowered her head and apologized.
"What are you sorry about? I don't confess to you. You don't have to reject me so mercilessly, do you?" Donald joked.
Kara blushed and shook her head desperately, "Donald, I respect you very much. It's my fault that I didn't tell James that I wanted to move to the apartment, so he misunderstood you."
When Donald remembered that James was the one who picked up the call when he called her, and it made James misunderstand him, he felt a little sorry as well.
"He thought you wanted to live with me, so he treated me as a love rival." Donald seemed to have thought of something, and he let out a low laugh, causing Kara to look confused.
"James is jealous. I can see that he likes you so much."
Kara stared at him in surprise. James liked her?
"Kara, in my heart, you are a little sister. Do you still remember that I told you that I also had a sister before? And I hope you could help me draw a painting of her for me, okay?"
Hearing Donald's gentle voice, Kara nodded, but when she realized that she had never seen his sister before, she felt she was put in a difficult position.
Donald saw through her thoughts and took out a black USB, "This is the video of her birthday before. Take a look first. If you have any questions, ask me again."
"Okay." Kara took the black USB and praised with a smile, "Donald, you are really a good brother."
However, Donald's expression changed instantly, and his gentle face paled.
Seeing the change in his expression, Kara was not sure if she had said something wrong. She asked nervously, "Donald, are you okay?"
"I am okay. I'll go to work first. If you have any question, just ask me." Donald left quickly.
Kara frowned and stared at the black USB in her hand, feeling a little helpless.
"Kara, come." Suddenly hearing Larry's serious voice, she quickly stuffed the black USB into her bag and ran to him.
"Master Larry, is there anything you need me to do?"
Larry casually threw a flyer to her, "An old friend of mine is holding an art competition. You should participate in it."
