When Kara left, Will gave her some more medicine. But Kara did not want to trouble him.
"Uncle Will, you leave work early!"
Will joked, "You are James' fiancée. If you call me uncle, what should he call me?"
Kara didn't answer. She pouted and blinked her big eyes.
Kara knew that she couldn't refuse, so she just went downstairs with Will.
When they went downstairs, Kara found that many nurses stared at Will to relax themselves.
"I can see that you are very popular in the hospital, Uncle Will."
Will was speechless.
He pinched the space between his eyebrows. Maybe because Kara called him uncle or maybe because he was always stared by many women.
However, he found that Kara was much more outgoing. She would not always be shy and lower her head, being hard to get close.
Back at the villa, Will went to Libby with the medicine.
Kara went upstairs to take a shower. Will applied some medicine on her again. Seeing that her face was no longer swollen, he patiently told her some notes.
"Thank you, Uncle Will." Kara got up and wanted to walk him out, but Will stopped her.
He said, "There's no need. Libby has decocted the medicine for you. Take the medicine and have a good sleep. When you wake up, maybe James is back."
It was hard for Kara to refuse. After Will left, Libby brought a bowl of medicine upstairs.
"Miss Kara, Dr. Will said that you should drink it while it is still hot."
Kara pursed her lips. Although she didn't want to, she still drank all of it.
Perhaps because of the medicine, she fell asleep soon.
In her dream, she felt that she fell into the water and was entangled by aquatic plants. She couldn't escape and it was hard for her to breathe. She would almost drown.
Kara woke up.
She opened her eyes and saw a handsome man vaguely.
He leaned against the bedside. He lowered his head to kiss Kara while his hands were holding Kara's head. His eyes were brown and deep and he was focused.
Noticing that she was awake, he slowly let her go and gently kissed her face, which was red and swollen. He looked heartbroken.
"James."
Kara was able to breathe in the fresh air and she gasped.
James did not care that she called him uncle. He just kissed her eye.
"Does it still hurt?"
Kara shook her head. She wanted to smile, but when she pulled the corner of her mouth, it was a little painful.
She cried out in a low voice.
Seeing that Kara still struggled to smile, James frowned and sneered, "How ugly!"
"I was bullied and you still scolded me." Kara pouted in grievance and refused to look at James.
Seeing her act like a spoiled child, James stroked her head and lay down next to her. He hugged Kara in his arms gently, in case he would touch her face.
Kara didn't refuse him this time. Suddenly she thought of how Zoey treated her, she looked up at James.
"Uncle James, why is Grandma so eager to have a child?"
James grabbed her soft hands and looked down at her.
Thinking of what Will told him on the phone, his eyes became cold and deep.
"Do you want to leave me, Kara?"
He looked calm, but he wasn't.
Kara was guilty. She regretted asking such a question.
"I'm sorry, James."
