James went to the meeting, and Kara calmed herself down in the office alone for a long time before the temperature on her face lowered.
Suddenly, she heard a knock on the door and was surprised for a few seconds. Then she walked to the door and opened the door slightly.
A woman was standing outside. Kara had seen her at the police station that day.
Jenny was surprised to see the woman's face.
It turned out to be James' nominal fiancée!
"It's like this. Mr. James is in a meeting. I need to get a document."
When Kara heard that Jenny address James this way, she felt slightly strange.
She was an employee here, which meant this woman got along with James every day.
She pursed her pink lips and remembered that Nolan was the assistant. If James had any important documents to get and asked this woman to come over, it meant this woman was in a privileged position.
"Sorry, you can't enter." Kara refused.
Jenny stared at her in surprise. With her tender little face, Kara looked like a junior high school student.
But this woman had a mind of her own and was especially good at scheming.
Now she was favored by James. No wonder she would be self-willed.
"Miss Kara, I'm sorry. This is SA Group. I'm here to work. Please let me do my work."
Kara opened the door but stretched out to block the way, a faint smile on her face.
"I'm sorry, this is James' office. You can't enter without his permission. You said you were here for documents. This kind of work should be done by a special assistant, right?"
Jenny's face was a little unnatural. It was just an excuse. She just wanted to see who the woman inside James' office was.
"Yes, it was originally like this, but they're in a meeting now. That document is very important. I need to take it." Jenny tried to find an excuse.
Kara looked at the smile on her face all the time and remembered that when she went to her father's company before, there was always a lot of staff who smiled at her like this.
Once, she was drinking water in the break room, she heard those who usually smiled at her talk about her privately, and even secretly scold her mother.
When Kara thought of the past, she became more guarded against Jenny.
Perhaps it was a woman's nature. She felt hostility towards Jenny when she looked at her.
She wondered this woman's real purpose was to test her.
Since she was here, how could Kara let go of such an opportunity?
So she refused without thinking.
"Then, the document you want to take is very, very important. Do you have to take it away at this moment?"
"Of course," Jenny replied coldly.
"You are lying!"
"If it is a very, very important document, it is impossible for you to come alone. If you are from the secretarial department, it must be two together, right?"
Kara remembered that her father once told her that two employees needed to supervise each other together if they were asked to fetch an important document.
Although she did not understand the work procedures of SA Group, she noticed a flash of guilt in Jenny's eyes. That was why she dared to deny Jenny.
"Miss Kara, this is SA Group, a place for work, not a place for you to mess around." Jenny was a little angry at her words.
"Miss, this is James' office. I don't care who has opened this door. If you must take that document, I can't stop you."
Kara took two steps back and said frankly.
Hearing this, Jenny felt a bit awkward. Should she enter?
Who knew if this woman was waiting for her to make mistakes?
