"Miss Emily, what brings you to my office?"
James held Kara's hand and took her to another sofa. He pressed her shoulders to let her sit down.
He acted high and mighty with Emily and looked down at Emily coldly. He did not want to hear her talk nonsense.
Emily really had something important to say this time, but it was about Emma instead of herself.
Earlier, she deliberately brought Emma and Zoey to the villa because she hoped that Zoey would help plead with James to let Emma go.
She originally thought that James would not make things difficult for Emma after listening to Zoey.
However, when she helped Emma apply for college, she didn't expect that many colleges immediately refused to admit Emma once they heard Emma's name.
When Emily saw the situation, she knew that James had done something to Emma.
"James, didn't you agree to let Emma go and allow her to study at a domestic college?"
"When did I ever agree?" James asked indifferently with a sneer.
"You!"
Emily was stunned. The last time Zoey talked to him, he tacitly agreed!
She was his aunt. Ever since that incident, James had been very indifferent to her, but she had not expected that he would be so ruthless to her for the sake of that bitch named Kara.
But now that he was in control of the SA Group and had his own power, she did not dare to offend him.
"James, Emma is the only granddaughter of your grandma. If she goes abroad to study, your grandma will be sad."
"Huh! She can choose not to study," James replied.
Emily was stunned.
She glared at him with a grimace. She then took a deep breath before suppressing her anger.
Emma was her only daughter. She was not good at studying in high school. If she did not go to college, what could she do in the future?
"James, Emma is your cousin. How can you be so cruel to her just for a woman?"
James seemed to have heard a joke, his eyes flashing with mockery.
"Fortunately, she is my cousin. Otherwise, I would have killed her!"
Emma bullied Kara in school at first and then asked someone else to bully Kara together. If she was not her cousin, she could not live now. Was he not merciful enough?
"How can you be so heartless?"
James looked at his watch and pointed at it with his long finger. "Miss Emily, do you think it is appropriate for you to talk to me about personal matters during the working time?"
Emily was so angry that she wanted to kick James. If it wasn't the working time, she wouldn't have been able to meet him.
"You are wasting my time. Can you afford to compensate for my loss?"
"James, don't cross the line!"
Since they had quarreled, Emily did not bother to pretend to be obedient to James anymore. Her face was filled with anger.
"I crossed the line?" James sneered, "Miss Emily, I still allow you to work in the SA Group. You should be grateful to me."
"The SA Group is a property of the Hemming family. You have no right to kick me out of the SA Group!" Emily panicked.
James was cold-blooded and ruthless. If he wanted to do something, no one could stop him.
"Don't forget that the SA Group was managed by the Hemmings nine years ago. I have been in charge of it for nine years. As long as I do not say that it belongs to the Hemmings, it has nothing to do with them!"
When he promised his grandmother that he would quit as President of the SA Group if he was not engaged, he was just stalling for time.
He had all the shares of the SA Group. It didn't matter whether he was the president or not. Even if he quit, the person who would become the president would still be his man.
Emily was the only one who imagined that she could take up the position.
"In the future, don't step into my office without my consent. Otherwise, get out of the SA Group!"
Being asked to leave, Emily turned pale and stared at him with resentment.
"James, you are an ingrate. Mom handed the SA Group over to you, yet you repay her kindness with ingratitude!"
James was so angry that he sneered, but he did not reveal his anger.
He sat down gracefully and opened the kettle. He poured a glass of water and took a sip. Perhaps because it was too hot, he frowned slightly.
