Perhaps because she had spoken to Uncle James on the phone, Kara slept soundly tonight.
The next day, she woke up early and felt she had a sore throat. Looking at the rain outside the window, she frowned slightly.
Yesterday, she promised Uncle James that she would exercise every day. Now it was raining. How could she go running?
When she went to school, the rain hadn't stopped yet. After drinking hot water all morning and going to the bathroom a few times, she felt even dizzier.
Suddenly, her eyes dulled, and she almost fell.
"Are you alright?"
A gentle voice sounded in her ears. She slowly opened her eyes and saw that a boy was supporting her.
She quickly stood firm and took two steps back, apologizing embarrassedly.
The boy saw her lowering her head and apologizing. He thought it was funny. Was he that scary?
"I'm Eli. Nice to meet you."
Kara raised her head and found that the boy was around 1. 7 meters tall. He was seventeen or eighteen years old with a very handsome face. When he smiled, she felt warm somehow.
"Sorry, I bumped into you." Kara apologized and said, "Thank you, I'm Kara."
Eli looked at her blushing cheeks and thought that she was shy. He smiled and said, "Hello, Kara. Nice to meet you."
Kara glanced at him. Just as she was about to speak, she heard the bell for class. She said goodbye and ran to the classroom.
James saw her leaving and touches her chest. Her heartbeat was fast and hard to control.
After a lesson, Kara felt even dizzier. She rubbed her forehead and guessed that she had caught a cold.
"Are you Kara?"
Suddenly, a sharp female voice sounded. Kara raised her head in confusion and saw a woman who had flashy clothes and hairstyle. Her small eyes were covered in sootiness makeup.
Everyone in the classroom was standing afar, afraid that he would be implicated.
"I'm Kara. What do you want?"
Suddenly!
The woman picked up a book and smashed it onto the desk, staring coldly at Kara.
"You forced my sister Winifred to drop out of school, didn't you?"
The sound of the book smashing into the desk was loud. Kara was so scared that her shoulders trembled. Her back was covered with sweat, and she moved her chair back in fear.
"You'd better hide like a rat!"
The woman sneered in disdain, raising her arm to take the book.
Suddenly, another angry female voice sounded, but this one was even more daunting.
