James took the zipper of her school uniform, pulled it up as high as it would go, covering her collarbone, and was then satisfied.
He ordered in a cold voice, "Zip it up from now on!"
"I see."
The school uniform was loose, and when it was zipped up, Kara would have half of her face covered when she shrunk her neck.
Although Uncle James' tone was cold, Kara could tell that he cared about her. Kara was an optimistic girl. She knew James was for her own good.
Back in class, Kara still had time, so she lay down on her desk for a lunch break, but she didn't expect to have a nightmare.
In her dreams, Uncle James lost his temper with her, saying that she was not a good girl and always caused trouble for him.
His handsome face was gloomy and his cold gaze stabbed her. She wanted to apologize, but Uncle James said she was not allowed to say sorry to him. Therefore, she held back her tears and did not dare to speak.
Uncle James' cold voice sounded again. He said if she didn't listen to him, he wouldn't raise her anymore.
"No! I will be good from now on!"
Kara's eyes snapped open. She made sure she wasn't in the villa. A cold sweat broke out on her back, and she was terrified.
Arya looked at Kara's forehead covered in cold sweat and patted her shoulder.
"Kara, are you alright?"
"I had a nightmare." Kara touched her forehead, feeling a headache.
Although this was a nightmare, it reminded Kara. If she disobeyed and annoyed Uncle James, she might be driven out!
"Arya, I'm afraid that one day when I make Uncle James angry, he will ignore me."
Hearing that it was related to James, Arya did not know how to comfort Kara, because she did not know James that well.
"It's said that Mr. James has a bad temper. His means are cruel and his manner is very decisive. Anyone who provokes him will come to no good end. But seeing him in person, I feel that he is not the kind of unreasonable person."
Kara thought back to his indifference towards Kathleen and shook her head. The rumors were not unfounded. When Uncle James lost his temper, it was really terrifying.
"Even if you Uncle James don't want you, I will always be there with you!"
Arya tried to divert Kara's attention. She raised Kara's chin, looking like a playboy.
Kara shook off Arya's hand and rolled her eyes at Arya, "You're going abroad. Don't joke."
Speaking of going abroad, Arya looked out of the window blankly with her fingers interlocked under her chin.
Seeing that Arya had suddenly become depressed, Kara was at a loss and said, "Arya, what happened?"
"Nothing. I only know how to fight and flirt. The worst thing that could happen to me is probably me getting a F." Arya shrugged.
...
With Arya's casual personality, it was possible that she got F in the exam.
After school, Kara thought that James would come to pick her up, so she ran to the school gate early. But she was informed that Uncle James still had work to do and Nolan was here to pick her up.
When Nolan drove, he noticed Kara's silence and tried to find a topic to talk to her.
"Are you stressed about your college entrance exams?"
Kara shook her head and sighed, "With my grades, I won't get good grades even if I'm under pressure."
...
Nolan stiffened for two seconds. As a top science student in the college entrance examination, he really didn't know how to continue this topic.
"Uncle Nolan, how long have you been with Uncle James?"
"Miss Kara, I'm not with Mr. James!" Nolan gripped the wheel and was nervous.
Mr. James didn't have a girlfriend, so rumors had it that he liked men. Some people suspected that Nolan was with Mr. James.
When James heard this rumor, he teased Nolan, "If I can't find a girlfriend, maybe we could be together."
