She used all her strength to dress up and her desire to vomit didn’t ease. She looked at her pale face in the mirror and continued to vomit but nothing came out. Her stomach was empty and she only vomited her stomach juices. Her tiny face was all wrinkled in discomfort.
She walked out weak and listless. Rebecca was waiting for her and looked at her with a strange look. Her eyes shifted towards her abdomen and pursed her lips but remained silent.
Mia caught her breath and recovered somewhat. She asked softly, “Rebecca, where are we going?”
Rebecca remained stern and didn’t answer her but turned and left the room. Mia followed and walked to the stairs and Rebecca was already at the bottom of the stairs and walked towards the dining area.
At the dining area, the slender body was seated at the table having breakfast. He clearly ignored Mia and the unhappiness of the previous night flooded her mind. Mia stood in place and didn’t want to move forward.
Rebecca said something into William’s ear and William looked coldly at Mia. Mia came to her senses and quickly walked downstairs, almost tripped in her anxiety.
She was scared of William, absolutely terrified of him. Her footsteps were trembling, unsteady, unwilling but yet couldn’t stop. She started to sweat with fear. When he stared at her she would be indescribably terrified.
Won’t you be afraid of someone who can at anytime make you suffer till you begged for death?
William’s handsome eyebrows twisted and coldly ordered, “Summon the doctor.”
Mia finally came to William’s side not knowing was it because she was weak or scared but her legs kept trembling. William glared at her and yelled, “Sit down!”
She hesitated and then Mia carefully sat opposite him. Her hands and feet shuffled and she looked around and then froze.
Was it necessary to explain clearly? Though she had already received the cruelest punishment, a misunderstanding needs to be cleared. It was unacceptable to be wronged.
She swallowed her saliva and carefully raised her head, “That…”
“Eat!” It was obvious that William didn’t care to listen to what she wanted to say. He pushed a plate and a cup of milk over and coldly ordered. From the time they met until now, he had never given her a decent attitude. His eyes and expression reminded her, in his heart, she is the vilest woman.
Without eating, she insisted on speaking, “I didn’t harm your wife, truly.”
His face twisted and looked up swiftly and with killer looks that pierced directly into her heart. He asked ruthlessly, “Didn’t you get the medicine to her?”
“Yes, it’s me.”
“You are a doctor, don’t you know that expired medicine will worsen the patient’s condition with potentially fatal results?!”
She knew and anxiously nodded but how could she know that there was expired medicine on the table? Or perhaps she was distracted by Sophia’s warmness and gentleness that she forgot the fundamental duties of a doctor.
“I followed the instructions of Mrs. Brown and retrieved the medicine.” She didn’t want to explain too much but just wanted to state the facts.
He clenched his fists and William stared at her furiously as if he wanted to set her on fire, “You mean that my Sophia intentionally wanted to frame you?” That expression, that voice was like this was the world’s greatest problem and he absolutely didn’t believe her and also hated her!
My Sophia, this clearly showed how deep his affection for her was.
She shook her head rapidly and begged, “I don’t mean that, don’t mean that, I meant…”
“You just want to get off the hook for the harm you did, right?” He released his hand and her body slumped down against the back of the chair and then onto the floor.
Her pitiful state was fake in William’s eyes and he totally had no pity for her. Her external and internal injuries were unbearable and Mia finally broke down in tears. She felt an intense desire to vomit.
Rebecca appeared at the door and announced, “The doctor is here.”
“Give her an examination.” He didn’t want to take another look at her and walked towards the living room. He sat lazily and closed his eyes.
Mia was pulled up to her feet by Rebecca. The doctor took her pulse and took out a pregnancy test kit. Mia suddenly remembered that her period was already late for half a month.
Could it be real…
The doctor examined and she widened her eyes to the limit. She bit down on her lips and asked uneasily, “Doctor, what’s wrong with me.” The doctor didn’t say anything and walked to William and said, “She’s pregnant.”
She’s really pregnant! It was as if she was struck by a bolt of lightning and her entire world turned upside down.
How… could…
She held onto her stomach and looked towards William, her expression was pitiful and she begged, “This… is a life…”
