Chapter 107 Closer
Annalise looked at Julian. She sensed his grief and regret when he mentioned his mother. She was shocked She believed him.
Because he had been really good to her.
Moreover, Julian was right. If he and Lianne were indeed a couple, he would not have agreed to enter into marriage with the Barton family. He would not need to go to Horington, either.
And he was not someone who liked to flirt around with women.
After spending such a long time in Jadeborough, he had not interacted with any women other than Lianne and Sybil.
Julian thought that Annalise still did not believe him. He suddenly thought of something and shouted, “Hey, Goldie!”
“Yes, sir.” A voice suddenly came from his phone.
Annalise looked at Julian’s pocket in surprise. Goldie? Was it something like Siri?
She heard Julian ask, “Goldie, do you have a recording of my conversation with Lianne on the day of Madam Blake’s surgery, at around three in the afternoon?”
*Please wait a moment, sir.” A robotic voice sounded.
“Sir, I’ve found the recording of your conversation with Lianne from that afternoon. Would you like me to play it?” the system asked.
“Yes. Play it,” Julian said.
Julian took out his phone, and his voice immediately sounded. “I have something to tell you. If you’re willing to take the risk, someone might be able to save your brother. Of course, you’ll have to bear the risk yourself.”
Immediately after, Lianne’s excited voice was heard, “Really? Can his condition be treated? Let me see this doctor. I want to talk to them in person. I want to know what the risk is.”
Julian said, “Alright. When the time comes, I’ll let the doctor look at Preston’s condition. We’ll talk about the details afterward.”
Lianne asked, “Are you referring to Dr. Jonathan Woods?”
Julian answered, “No. But if you want to invite Dr. Woods, I’ll arrange it.”
Lianne said, “Thank you! I’ll be leaving now, then. After you’ve made the appointment, contact me at any time. 100 immediately bring Preston over.”
“Alright,” Julian said.
Immediately after, the system’s voice sounded. “Sir, the recording of your conversation with Lianne has finished playing.”
Annalise felt terrible.
She had already believed him a moment ago. She did not need him to prove his innocence in such a way.
It made her feel as if she was hurting him, as well as their relationship.
She thought that her mistrust must have made him uncomfortable.
She remembered. Julian had told her that he had spoken with Lianne. Whenever Annalise had the time to look at Lianne’s brother, Lianne would bring her brother over.
Annalise had said there was no need to pick Preston up and that they should not let him come into contact with unfamiliar environments. Therefore, they took the initiative to go to the villa to take a look at Preston. He had never lied to her, but she did not trust him because of a photo someone else had taken.
“I’m sorry,” she said.
Julian said nothing.
‘I was wrong. I’m sorry!” Annalise reached for Julian’s hand.
“Goldie, turn off all functions,” Julian shouted.
“Yes, sir, replied Goldie.
All of a sudden, Julian hugged Annalise tightly and pulled her into his arms. He lowered his head and looked at her with eyes full of passion. His voice was hoarse. “Do you believe me now?”
“Yes, I’m sorry, I… Annalise felt terrible.
Julian suddenly leaned down and passionately kissed Annalise on the lips.
Annalise had never felt so captivated by their kiss.
