Mina Simmons was afraid that she might laugh uncontrollably and changed the topic immediately.
“Mr. Blake, let’s order now.
I’ll get the waiter.” Mina was amused and could not hide her smile when she spoke.
She immediately pressed the service.
bell.
A waiter came over with the menu.
Mina took the menu from the waiter and handed it to Preston Blake.
“Mr. Blake, would you like to order?” “Please go ahead,” Preston replied politely.
He could not help but ask again, “Why are you treating me to dinner, Mina?” Preston had held back on the question for a long time.
He had thought about it but could not figure it out.
He wondered on his way here if tonight’s dinner was an excuse for Mina’s interest in him.
However, she immediately turned him.
down when he jokingly asked her to be his pretend girlfriend.
Evidently, she did not have any romantic.
interest in him.
Then why did she treat him to dinner out of the blue? Did Mina regard him as a friend? Or was she simply too bored and wanted some company for a meal? Preston racked his brains but could not conclude; it drove him crazy.
“Hehehe.” Mina giggled like a fool and said apologetically, “I forced you to play the drinking game last time, but you got so drunk and didn’t have anything to eat.
I feel guilty about that.
Therefore, I want to treat you to a good meal to make up for it.” “Is that all?” Preston looked perplexed as thoughts went through his head.
Mina was not interested in him after all.
“Mhmm,” Mina replied; her bright eyes.
sparkled.
“There are no other intentions?” Preston was persistent and unwilling to give up.
“None whatsoever!” Mina replied with all seriousness.
“Well then, thank you for the treat.
I’ll return the favor next time,” Preston said.
However, his heart felt a little empty.
“Sure!” Mina spoke like a foodie, “Mr. Blake, believe me when I say this restaurant is extraordinary regarding food.
We will come here again when you treat me next time.” “Okay,” Preston could not hide his laughter when he saw Mina’s gluttonous look.
Meanwhile, Mina was pleasantly surprised that Preston was about to figure out the game she had played earlier.
Her eyes sparkled like stars in the sky.
“You’re about to solve it.
You’re only two rows away.
How amazing!” Preston’s mood changed when he saw Mina’s surprised look.
His disappointment earlier on dissipated.
The corners of his lips curled up, “I was lucky.
All the numbers I wanted appear.” The waiter began to serve the dishes.
Preston asked, “Do you want a drink?” Mina waved her hand vigorously.
“No, no, no, I can’t drink.” “Is it okay if I drink a little?” Preston asked.
“All right, you can drink a little: I’ll give you a lift home later,” Mina replied readily.
“Okay then,” Preston smiled and said.
He felt that Mina did not behave as a girl should.
Preston continued to play the game and quickly figured it out.
Mina gave him a thumbs up excitedly.
“Mr. Blake, you’re so awesome!” Preston felt awkward when Mina addressed him as Mr. Blake.
He looked at her intently and suggested, “Why don’t we change how we address each other? You can call me by my name, Preston.” “Hahaha, you’re right since we know each other so well.
You’re too amazing.
You know, every time I play this game, I’ll end up dead if I make a mistake.” Mina took over her cell phone and looked at her hundreds of thousands of points with satisfaction.
The dishes were served.
Preston and Mina began to eat.
Preston poured himself a glass of wine and asked, “Aren’t you going to drink some?” Mina contemplated while looking at the bottle.
“Why not? I’ll drink a little,” she replied.
“Mhmm,” Preston smiled.
Mina handed a small wine glass to him.
Preston poured her a small glass of wine.
Mina took a sip and started chatting.
“Listen, Preston, don’t let my lack of proper behavior back home fool you.
My mother would never allow me to drink when I was overseas.” Preston smiled, “It’s fine to drink a little.
Wine promotes blood circulation; it’s good for the body.” “That’s right!” Mina’s eyes lit up.
“Wine is used as medicine in traditional medicine too.
