Half an hour later, Kelly arrived at the women's dorm.
Brianna opened the door and said abruptly, "I don't work at Lewis Group anymore, and you can't use me any longer. What do you want, Ms. Harrison?"
Brianna felt that she and Kelly were the same kind of people. When things happened, they would push the blame to someone else and use someone else as their scapegoat. She wasn't dumb enough to believe that Kelly was really here to apologize to her.
Kelly walked in and closed the door. She looked around the cramped dorm and laughed. She said, "Your dorm may be small, but it's clean and cozy."
Brianna frowned. "Get to the point! I'm not in the mood to beat around the bush with you!"
She had been polite to Kelly previously because she was an employee at Lewis Group. Now that she had been fired, there was no reason to flatter Kelly any longer.
Kelly walked over and handed a bag to her. "I'm here to apologize sincerely to you. I didn't think you'd lose your job because of a casual comment from me.
"I feel really uneasy. Luckily, nothing happened to Tiffany that night. If something had gone wrong, I wouldn't even know how to face you."
Brianna's gaze swept over the bag, and the look in her eyes softened. "What is this?"
"The newest item of this season from M.C. I asked a friend to buy it for me. Think of it as my apology." Kelly smiled generously.
"You're giving it to me?" Brianna took it. There was a beautiful gift box inside the bag. It contained a makeup set. "This probably cost over ten thousand, right?"
"About 16 thousand." Kelly flipped her hair over her shoulder and said, "It's not that expensive of a gift for a friend."
"A friend?" Brianna was startled. She took the gift box, and the angry look on her face turned into a smile. She even took Kelly's hand.
"That's right. We're friends," she said. "Kelly, I just had a fight with my boyfriend, and I'm in a bad mood. I might have been a little rude just now. Please, don't mind it."
Kelly smiled. "I won't. Friends wouldn't get angry over something so trivial."
"Can I open it to have a look?" Brianna could hardly wait. She was touching the box reverently, and her eyes were shining.
She had never had anything so expensive. 16 thousand dollars! The best skincare products that she had received from William only cost a few hundred. The gift that Kelly had given her was an absolute treasure.
