"Oh, why did you get tea?" Mandy opened the bag and cast a disdainful glance at it. "Vince, I hate tea!"
"Is that so?" Vincent walked back and took the breakfast. "Don't drink it if you don't like it. Don't force yourself."
Mandy pouted as her breakfast was snatched away. "Vince, you brought this for Tiffany, didn't you?"
Vincent didn't answer her question. He put the breakfast on his desk and went to hang his jacket up.
"They all say that you treat Tiffany differently. I didn't believe it at first, but now I do." Mandy propped her chin in her hands and stared intensely at Vincent's face.
"Vince, you're not actually interested in Tiffany, are you?" she asked.
"The first rule of being in the workplace is not to discuss matters unrelated to work with your boss unless your boss initiates such a conversation!" Vincent warned her. He pressed the internal line on his phone.
Ivy picked up. "Mr. Lewis."
"Tell Tiffany to come in."
"Mr. Lewis, Tiffany isn't at her desk."
Vincent paused. "Where did she go?"
"I'm not sure. She was still here just moments ago. Maybe she went to sneak a break somewhere."
"Tell her to come to the office when she comes back."
"Yes, Mr. Lewis." The moment Ivy hung up, Tiffany came back.
"Tiffany…" Ivy called out without thinking.
Tiffany paused. "What is it?"
Ivy paused for a moment. Then, she smiled and said, "Nothing." She bent down over her work.
She hadn't delivered the message from Vincent. Tiffany would be scolded for sure!
…
Tiffany had only just sat down when she felt her stomach roiling again. She drank two sips of warm water to suppress the feeling and felt slightly better. However, her stomach was still churning violently.
