Tiffany's eyes widened. "Dr. Harvey, what did you just say?"

"Based on the symptoms you described and the physical examination, it seems you're pregnant."

She was pregnant! It must be from that night. But…

"Wait, that's impossible!" Tiffany blurted out.

Jacob sensed something was off. "Why do you think it's impossible?"

"Because I…" Tiffany's voice trailed off.

She had taken emergency contraception. It was within the 72-hour window. It should have worked. How could she be pregnant?

Jacob glanced at Vincent knowingly. "Even with precautions, there's still a chance. They're not guaranteed."

"But… doesn't the pill usually work?" Tiffany's voice trembled with fear.

She had taken it as a precaution. But now, faced with the possibility of still being pregnant, she was genuinely terrified.

"The pill?" Jacob glanced at Vincent, then back at Tiffany. "It's usually pretty reliable. Which brand did you take?"

Tiffany shook her head. She had just grabbed one from her sister's stash without paying attention to the brand.

"Does it really matter which brand it was?"

"It does, to some extent, but it's not everything. Sometimes, generic pills aren't as reliable. There's also the chance it might have expired," Jacob explained.
