When Tiffany saw Kelly's name, it was like someone dumped a bucket of cold water over her, thoroughly waking her up.
What was she even thinking about?
Tiffany couldn't believe she actually considered telling Vincent about the baby.
He was engaged, for heaven's sake. What on earth was she even thinking?
Vincent sensed Tiffany's sudden change and declined Kelly's call. "What were you about to say just now?" he asked.
Tiffany shook her head. "No, it's nothing… Mr. Lewis, I think I should head back to my dorm now."
"Alright," Vincent responded.
He frowned as he watched Tiffany walk away. A strange emptiness crept into his chest. He couldn't shake the feeling that she had something important to tell him.
As the ringtone rang again, it snapped him back to reality.
Vincent answered, and Kelly's voice filled the car. "Mr. Lewis, it's late. Are you still out?"
"What is it?" Vincent glanced out the car window, but Tiffany was long gone, leaving only the deserted staircase in sight.
"It's nothing important. I just wanted to check in and see if you're okay." Kelly's voice was laced with a hint of shyness.
Vincent averted his gaze. "I'll be out late. You should get some rest. Don't wait for me."
"Alright…" Kelly paused briefly, then added, "Just make sure you stay safe on your way back, okay?"
"I will."
After ending the call, Kelly immediately dialed Brianna's number.
"Ms. Harrison…" Brianna answered just as Tiffany walked into the dorm room.
"Brianna, is Tiffany back?" Kelly asked.
