Vincent paused before responding. Kelly's text message hadn't seemed like a mere joke to him.
However, he couldn't fathom why she would want to harm Tiffany and hesitated to jump to conclusions.
"Mr. Lewis, don't you believe me?"
Kelly's voice was deflated and weary, "Even you don't believe me..."
Kelly's pitiful crying tugged at Anna's heartstrings, prompting her to speak up, "Although I don't know the specifics, the police were involved and cleared Kelly. If she had done something wrong, they wouldn't have let her go so easily."
Vincent nodded. "I believe this was unintentional, but Brianna can't stay at the company any longer."
He was always meticulous about his employees. He had sensed early on that Brianna was trouble. If Kelly hadn't vouched for her, he would've fired Brianna on her first day.
With this incident, there was no way Vincent would let her stay at Lewis Group.
Kelly agreed, "Sure, I only spoke up for her last time because she seemed pitiful, and Ivy pleaded on her behalf. I didn't realize she was this kind of person. Keeping her is asking for trouble."
After this incident, Kelly loathed Brianna. It was bad enough that Kelly had been foolish, but Brianna had then betrayed her to save herself!
Even if Vincent didn't fire her, Kelly would ensure Ivy found reasons to force her out.
…
Vincent briefly visited the doctor's office to inquire about Anna's condition.
"It's common for elderly people to have stomach problems," the doctor explained, reviewing the lab results.
"It seems she ate something that didn't agree with her. It's nothing serious, but ensure she doesn't eat indiscriminately. Stomach issues, while often minor, can lead to complications if left unchecked."
"Alright." Vincent thanked the doctor and returned to the room to ask Kelly about it.
