Chapter 120
Logan looked up to find Karen smiling at him. His expression turned stern as he questioned her in a cold tone, “Who are you?”
The smile on Karen’s face immediately froze up.
She could not believe that the man–who had been occupying her thoughts all this while, the man she had been working so hard to catch up to, the man who made her stay at the hotel just for the chance to run into him–had completely forgotten about her.
Logan’s indifferent attitude felt like a bucket of ice water poured over her head.
Karen quickly composed herself and smiled again. “It’s me, Karen! I gave you a call when I came back to Glendale, remember?”
She also tried to look for him at his office, but unfortunately, she never managed to run into him. The receptionists would not even let her upstairs.
Logan coldly replied, “I’ve never heard of you.”
Karen was left speechless. After a short while, she continued, “Can I sit with you, Mr. Moore?”
“I don’t mind, but please keep your distance. I don’t like having young women being too close to me.”
Karen was once again left at a loss for words. “I’m a landscape architect. I’m the person who designed the renovation plan for Moore Estate.”
It did not matter if Logan did not remember her as she could just reintroduce herself once more to refresh his memory. When she headed to Moore Corporation to look for Logan, she learned from the receptionists that Logan had two children.
She then sought help from an informant to investigate the matter and eventually found out that the two children were not actually Logan’s but the children of his deceased friend,
Terence.
The Qualls were also a well–known family within Glendale. Although Terence had passed away, the affluent Quall family was still around.
Karen wondered why they could not afford to raise the two children and instead allowed Logan to adopt them.
The informant explained that they could not investigate further, lest they alert Logan of what was happening.
Karen had no choice but to give up investigating further, but knowing that the children were not Logan’s was already more than enough.
She took out her name card from her bag and handed it to Logan with a smile. “This is my name card, Mr. Moore.”
Logan did not accept her name card.
Instead, he just stood up and left.
Logan might have given Karen some more attention if he had not already married Lorraine in a flash marriage.
He suspected that Karen had stolen Lorraine’s design. And knowing that Karen shamelessly had accused Lorraine of plagiarizing her instead, he decided that he would not even talk to Karen.
Karen had finally run into Logan, and she was not about to let him leave again so easily. “Mr. Moore!”
She followed him out of the hotel just as Logan’s bodyguards arrived in their car.
