Chapter 42 

Logan didn’t know that Jacod had told the elders about his marriage. 

At this moment, he was having dinner with his wife and children. 

Lorraine, being a good cook, prepared just four dishes, but the 

children ate with great appetite. 

Even Luna, who was usually picky, was eating heartily and competing with her brother for food. 

“Mom, your cooking is delicious, even better than Zachary’s,” Luna said sincerely after finishing her meal. 

“Who’s Zachary?” Lorraine asked casually, handing a napkin to Luna to wipe the grease off her mouth. 

Luna was about to answer, but Logan quickly interjected while smiling, “He’s a friend of mine who’s a great cook. All of us at work love his cooking. The kids tried his food once.” 

Remembering her father’s instruction not to mention the family’s workers, Luna nodded vigorously. Finnegan added, “Yes, that’s right. Zachary is Dad’s friend.” 

In reality, Zachary was their household chef, hired from a high–end hotel. Although his cooking was indeed excellent, the siblings thought their mother’s cooking was the best in the world since it was their first time tasting her food. 

Lorraine simply moved on, not thinking much of it. 

After dinner, she suggested taking the kids for a walk to the 

playground downstairs. Logan had no objections, and the kids were thrilled. 

They felt that since their mom came into their lives, their dad had been spending more time with them. 

The family of four strolled around the playground twice before 

heading back home. After bathing the children, Lorraine read them at bedtime story. She wasn’t sure if her storytelling was boring or if the kids were just very tired, but they fell asleep before she finished the 

story. 

After tucking them in and adjusting the air conditioner, Lorraine left the children’s room and returned to her bedroom, where Logan had. already showered and was sitting on the bed with his phone. 

He was actually checking the company’s WhatsApp group which consisted of the senior executives. He was overseeing various tasks.
