Unveiling the Genius Behind the Divorcee novel Chapter 217

Chapter 217 Not Many Years to Live

John, holding a freshly brewed hot coffee, walked over and saw this scene. His face changed immediately, hurriedly putting down the coffee cup and helping her to the couch.

“What’s wrong with you? Are you feeling unwell somewhere?”

John helped her sit down on the couch, and Aylin leaned back slightly, taking deep breaths for a while before she finally felt a little better.

She panted and rubbed her temples, “I don’t know either, I just felt like this when I suddenly smelled the scent of sage.

Could it be that I haven’t dealt with perfume ingredients for such a long time? But that shouldn’t be the case…”

Aylin is highly skilled in perfume making; one could say she grew up immersed in various perfume ingredients. John had never seen her react so strongly to any perfume ingredient before.

After a moment of contemplation, his expression grew increasingly worried. “Ms. Koch, could it be… the aftereffects of that explosion? Perhaps you should get yourself checked out again?”

“It probably isn’t.”

Aylin shook her head, “In the past three years, I’ve occasionally had this headache when I’m tired. If I rest well, it’s fine. It’s probably because I’ve been under too much pressure lately.”

Managing the company, investigating Hanson’s case, and dealing with Gavyn who was as clingy as chewing gum, each matter was draining her energy.

John handed over the coffee cup, still feeling a bit uneasy, “Apart from the headache, are there any other unusual symptoms with Ms. Koch?”

Aylin lowered her eyes and fell silent for a moment before saying, “Yes.”

“What else?” John became nervous.

“Recently, I’ve been having some really strange dreams that are quite baffling.”

“Strange dream?”

John didn’t expect Aylin to have this kind of trouble, and was momentarily stunned. “What exactly is this dream that’s bothering you so much, Ms. Koch? I’ve read The Interpretation of Dreams before. Maybe if I help you decipher your dream, your worries might be resolved.”

Aylin lifted her coffee cup and took a sip, pondering, “In my dream, it seems like I had a close relationship with a man. He taught me things and addressed me affectionately. But I have no recollection of him, and I couldn’t see his face clearly.”

He was rendered speechless. John felt a bit out of his depth.

“As the saying goes, our thoughts during the day influence our dreams at night. Could it be that Ms. Koch had seen him before, but she just couldn’t remember?” This was the only reasonable explanation he could think of.

Aylin shook her head, “No, I don’t know him at all.”

“Huh?” John was also puzzled, “Ms. Koch has never met this person, but she dreamt of them? That’s really strange, isn’t it?”

Just at this moment, Robert came to see Aylin with an exquisite paper bag in his hand. Hearing their conversation, he paused for a moment, and a hint of hidden complexity flashed in his eyes.

A moment later, he blinked and lowered his head, exhaling slowly, “I thought you had completely forgotten…”

Although Aylin explained that her headache was due to a troubled sleep caused by her dreams, John couldn’t help but worry. He expressed his concern repeatedly, unable to completely set his mind at ease.

“Ms. Koch, please take good care of yourself. If there’s anything you need, don’t hesitate to tell me. Although I may not have many years left, I can still help ease your burdens. Seeing you like this truly breaks my heart.”

“John, what nonsense are you talking about…”

Aylin raised her face and said, “Stop it, don’t say things like you won’t live for many more years-”
