Chapter 230 Revealing Her Hidden Identity
Once again, Waylon was chased out of the study by Zoey. Just then, he received a call from Gavyn, who mentioned drinking. Confused, Waylon raised three imaginary question marks above his head. and took the phone away from his ear to glance at it.
This is Gavyn’s number, right?
“Are you really here now?”
“I’ve set the usual spot, so cut the chatter.”
Gavyn’s cold voice came through the phone, and one could hear the emotional suppression in it.
Waylon clicked his tongue.
If it were anyone else who approached him about this matter, he wouldn’t be so surprised. But the key point is that it’s Gavyn. He has known Gavyn for over 20 years, and Gavyn has always been steady and self-disciplined, never indulging in alcohol or lustful pursuits.
What’s going on today?
However, Waylon didn’t refuse. He thought it would be a good opportunity to discuss the possibility of collaboration. “Alright, I’ll change my clothes and head out. When you arrive, just wait for me for a bit.”
After hanging up the phone, Waylon casually grabbed a handful of his messy hair, which had been tousled while playing with Zoey. He then changed into a casual leather jacket suitable for a night of drinking and hurried to his usual spot.
That is a 24-hour bar.
The moment Waylon opened the private room, he was astonished.
In the private room, tranquil music flowed like a gentle stream, while two rows of drinks were neatly arranged on the table, their presence striking even from a distance under the hazy lighting.
Waylon’s brow twitched slightly.
“Damn, is this a go-big-or-go-home party? I didn’t bring any stomach medicine today.”
Gavyn didn’t respond. Instead, he downed another glass of icy whiskey. After finishing it without a change in expression, he reached out and poured himself another.
Waylon was taken aback as the waiter opened the wine but seemed unwilling to leave. Instead, he kept asking, “Sir, Is there anything else I can help you with?”
It’s obvious that people admire Gavyn for his good looks, wealth, and creativity.
Unfortunately, the waiter only noticed Gavyn’s handsome and imposing appearance, failing to see the deep, turbulent waves hidden within his dark eyes.
“Alright, you can leave now. We’ll call you if we need anything.” Waylon frowned and waved his hand, allowing the clueless waiter to save face.
The waiter reluctantly left, and the private room became quiet.
Waylon sat down on the couch, propping up his legs, and easily reached for a glass of wine. “Gavyn, something’s off with you. What’s going on? Why did you ask me to come out for a drink in broad daylight, and you’re wearing such a sour expression?”
Gavyn didn’t respond, he just kept pouring himself drink after drink.
“Damn, that’s whiskey, not water!” Waylon couldn’t stand it anymore and grabbed his hand. “Alright, you don’t have to say it. I know it’s because of Aylin, right?”
Gavyn didn’t deny it. After a moment of silence, he suddenly blurted out, “She has amnesia.”
Waylon didn’t quite understand what it meant. “What… what is this?”
Gavyn gazed at the crystal-clear liquor in his hand, his voice deep and somber. “Three years ago, there was an explosion on the cruise ship Aylin was taking to return home. She miraculously survived, but was left with amnesia as a consequence.”
“So, what happened next?”
“And then, he lost his memory.”
Waylon gasped and widened his eyes, taking a moment to regain his composure.
“Did you look all this up? Goodness gracious, no wonder she’s changed so much, it turns out she has amnesia…”
Gavyn’s dark eyes were filled with gloom as he tugged at his disheveled shirt collar, his tone carrying a hint of annoyance that he himself didn’t notice. “So, she didn’t deceive me. She didn’t betray me, nor did she approach me with an ulterior motive. She…”
