Sonia just woke up. It was not a weekend, so Dixon was busy as usual. Normally, he would take time to spend with her. But now, because the New Year was approaching, the company had to settle a lot of bills. So, Dixon came less often these days.
So, this afternoon, Sonia took a nap. As soon as she opened her eyes, there was a figure climbing the wall from outside. The figure brushed open the window of Sonia's ward and leaped into the high-rise building like a cold shadow. After a nice landing, he slowly stood up.
He still had no expression on his face.
Sonia was stunned. Looking at Carl climbing like that, she was simply shocked. So, there were people who really practiced extreme sports and Parkour. She looked at Carl, "Are you okay?"
Carl answered indifferently, "No."
He suddenly barged into her ward. Sonia didn't know what to do with him. She smiled awkwardly, "Why are you... Why are you looking for me?"
Carl was sensitive to Sonia's change.
Obviously, her current smile was a forced one.
What had the slender woman experienced during the time he was away?
Carl sat down on the side, "I'm here to see you."
His voice was as aloof as usual. But after taking off his glasses, Carl looked really aloof.
Perhaps the lenses had previously hidden Carl's sharp eyes. Moreover, Carl with the glasses looked similar to Eaton Donald.
Now he took off his glasses, his cold air was very different from Eaton Donald.
Sonia pressed her temples. And then she sighed with relief, "Thank you for coming to see me."
But he could take the front door. Why did he have to climb the wall to get in? It was so dangerous. What if he missed one step...
Carl seemed to see through Sonia's thoughts. He stood up and approached Sonia's bed. He leaned down to look at her.
Looking at her, Carl said in a flat voice, "Because there are Dixon's men guarding downstairs."
Dixon must have seriously warned them about several blacklisted people. Like Quincy Sue, Carl Miller, and Matthew Frank, none of them would be let in.
So, Carl chose to climb the wall. Anyway, he has good skills. He was good enough to jump out of a window.
"Sorry for the trouble..." Sonia had to smile at him. Her estranged look made Carl frown slightly.
The woman in front of him was not the same as the times he had seen before.
He reached out to touch Sonia's face. But he stopped halfway. And then he withdrew his hand quickly after a moment of stiffness.
The man lowered his eyelashes and whispered, "You've changed."
Sonia didn't say anything. She just smiled sourly. Finally, she couldn't hold the smile any longer. She leaned back on the bed with her eyes closed. She looked in pain, "I'm sorry. I'm not feeling well..."
"I see," Carl finally reached out his fingers and pressed them on either side of Sonia's temples, "is something wrong with your mental state?"
Sonia clutched the quilt with her fingers, "Lenard said... He said that I'm severely depressed and anxious, I..."
"You will recover."
Looking at Sonia's face, Carl said, "The time is running out. Sonia, you must get better."
