Victor's move was an answer to Dixon, which meant their connection should be stopped here. And they wouldn't have any connection in the future.
Victor walked away. Dixon watched his small figure from behind with a sullen gaze. Dixon's face was half sideways, which showed his straight nose and a perfect side profile. And even the passers-by would take a few more glances at him. But Dixon's eyes were stuck on Victor's back.
Once upon a time, the most he left to Sonia and Victor was his back figure and cold eyes. And now... It turned into him witnessing their departure. He wanted to stop them from leaving. But he lost his courage.
When Victor arrived home, Sonia and Queenie were playing video games on the couch. They had just returned from the shoot for the magazine. They had spent the whole day there and had changed eight sets of looks. Finally, the first draft was decided. When they got home, they were so tired that their legs were about to cramp.
Queenie was lying on the couch. Leon was cooking in the kitchen. When Victor came in from the door, Sonia took a glance at him, "You're back? How's your day?"
Victor answered, "It was fun!"
"That's good."
Sonia smiled and touched Victor's face, "Did the two big men who came to pick you up send you back?"
Victor shook his head, "No, I came back on my own."
"Next time you go home alone, you should be more careful," Sonia admonished her son, "or, you should call me. I'll go pick you up."
"OK."
Victor smiled and said to Sonia, "Mom, have you ever wondered where Grandma and Grandpa are?"
He was mentioning Sonia's identity in a cryptic way.
Speaking of this, Sonia looked melancholy. "After what happened to the Donald Family, I have never seen them again. I don't know where they are now. There's no news..."
Sonia seemed to be unaware of her status. Victor frowned, "You mean, you lost track of Grandma and Grandpa after you went to jail?"
Sonia nodded, "What? You've never asked about this before. Why do you bring this up all of a sudden?"
"I just... I just miss them a little." Victor looked up at Sonia, "I wonder how they have been. And where do they live? And are they living a good life?"
"Don't say that. I miss them too." Sonia had a sad look in her eyes, "But as long as we don't give up hope of finding them, we will be reunited one day."
But Sonia had no idea that the day of reunion would come so soon... that she wouldn't even be prepared for it.
That night, Leon cooked a table of Thai food. The family got together and ate so much that by the end of the dinner they were all rubbing their stomachs and burping, "Oh my God, I'm burping. Leon's cooking is amazing."
"A qualified rich-born president had to know how to cook."
Queenie laughed and joked, "Now, our President Harrison is doing good both at the company and as a chef! He is juggling two careers"
Leon went over and wrapped his arm around Queenie's waist, "Very good. And now that this perfect man is your boyfriend, you should be proud."
"You're so proud!" Queenie hit Leon, "May I ask if all your property is mine?"
"What's mine is yours."
Leon kissed Queenie's forehead, "Anything that belongs to me, including me myself, is yours."
"Ouch..." Sonia and Victor looked at each and teased them, "That's enough for you two. Have you ever thought about our feelings?"
