"Is that man Dixon or not?" Quincy grabbed Sonia to leave and asked urgently. They both needed an answer, but neither of them could be sure about the truth.
Sonia sighed. "To be honest, I am not very sure either."
He does have a same face as Dixon. But his personality... is so different. If someone loses his memories, will his nature be different too? Or he is just simply not Dixon. And that's why he looks so strange to her.
"I didn't expect to meet... Dixon who would act like this here."
Quincy obviously has not recovered from the astonishment. "I thought he was... dead."
"I thought so, too." Sonia walked to the center of the venue. "Because when his body was returned that day, we were all guarding at the airport... Why..."
"Then we need to figure this out by a process of elimination."
Quincy took her to one side of the sofa and sat down. The waiter next to them brought two glasses of juice. Quincy said to them: "Thank you."
"Where is Victor?"
"Mr. Evci took him to hang out with clients."
Quincy pointed to one place. "Over there. Don't worry."
Sonia felt a little relieved. She took a sip of the juice and said to Quincy, "What do you think of this matter?"
Quincy was stunned by Sonia's question. Then he spoke up slowly, "For me, in fact, it doesn't matter that much whether Dixon comes back or not."
Sonia's expression looked a little sad.
"But what does it mean to you if Dixon comes back?"
Quincy asked Sonia with the same question: "Sonia, you have been forcing yourself to hang in there for the past six months. Who are you doing this for?"
Sonia was stunned by Quincy's question. Even her soul seemed to be trembling.
Who is she doing this for? Who is she waiting for?
Quincy felt distressed for Sonia. He stretched out to caress her face. "Sonia, do you know how distressed I am to watch you exhaust yourself with Dixon's company affairs and suffer all those stress and mocking? Why don't you choose to rely on us? Why do you have to take this burden by yourself?"
Sonia's eyes turned red. And she couldn't come up a word to say.
"To tell the truth, I don't want Dixon to come back if I put morality aside." Quincy looked a little worried. "If he comes back and pursues you again, I don't think I will still have a place round you to keep you company. But thinking in your shoes, I hope Dixon can be back."
I hope Dixon can come back.
Quincy paused. And his voice sounded hoarse. "I can't imagine how you will spend rest of your life waiting for him if Dixon doesn't come back..."
When Sonia heard his words, she kept her eyes wide open and looked up at the huge chandelier on the ceiling, trying to keep her tears from falling.
She couldn't help shedding tears when she started to imagine it. If Dixon doesn't come back, Sonia will be stuck in this position for the rest of her life, waiting for him forever. She will guard the Borris family forever for a person who will never come back.
She is a woman. What kind of life she will be living in the future?...
