Victor went home and gave Sonia the food he packed for her. Sonia asked while eating, "Did Dixon take you there?"
Victor paused, "Yes, why?"
Sonia's eyes were complicated, as if she was in pain, but also as if she was relieved. "This restaurant... It was the first time we went out to eat together after we got married. But halfway through the meal, Dixon got Maria's call and left me sitting alone in the restaurant to finish the pile of food I ordered."
After saying this, Sonia laughed self-deprecatingly. Poking at the food, she said, "At that time, I was a joke to everyone sitting in that restaurant. Going out for a date but being left alone by a man in such a fancy place, I guess I'm just not that lucky to have a usual date..."
At that time, she watched Dixon leave with what kind of emotion? And how did she play the whole scene to the end alone?
Victor froze, not expecting that there was such a story behind this restaurant.
Habit and memory were really torturous.
When she thought about it now, she still felt a vague pain even though she was relieved.
Victor said softly, "I didn't think it would remind you of sad things. If it's hard for you, then these dishes..."
"It's okay."
Sonia smiled, "It's not about the food. Besides, I've let it go. Anyway, it's just the past."
Watching Sonia eat, Victor suddenly asked with some emotion, "Actually, that night, Dixon asked me to tell you that he missed you and wanted to be with you again."
Sonia's gaze wavered.
"But I didn't dare to ask you outright. So I asked some questions to test whether you and he would still have a future." Victor confessed, "Mom, I respect all your choices."
Sonia looked down. However, holding the fork, her hand was trembling.
A young voice next to her was saying, "There is a man who will wait for you at the end of time. He might, and he will."
But how should she respond?
"If he dies, will you shed tears for him?"
Suddenly, Victor asked in a different light, "After all, I heard that his kidneys are likely to have problems. If one day he really leaves this world, mom, will you be sad?"
"I will be sad."
Finally, Sonia looked Victor in the eye and took a deep breath, as if she had used all her strength, "I would be sad. Because he is the man I once loved so much."
This was enough.
Victor grinned a little, "He gets your recognition. He might have no other wish in this life."
Late in the night, all emotions went up in the smoke.
Victor went to get a passport and his image photo. After that, Victor was picked up by Dixon and brought back to W City. Sonia was waiting for him at home. When he came back with all the contracts and documents, Sonia was a little excited, "Are you all set?"
"Yes, I'm leaving for London next week."
Victor handed the contract to Sonia, "Look, this is the agreement with the show. Take a look."
"Dixon should have checked it for you, right?"
Sonia took it and casually read through it. Dixon would definitely help to keep an eye on it. So, there might be nothing wrong with the contract.
