Seeing Elijah’s hand gripping her wrist so hard that the skin turned purple, she frowned and said, “You’re hurting me. I won’t leave until we finish our conversation, but if you keep holding on, I’ll leave immediately.” 

Elijah hesitated, but under her cold gaze, he relented and finally let go of her hand. 

Sheena sat on the chair by the bedside, getting straight to the point calmly, “Elijah, you were once proud. I don’t understand why you readily agreed to sign the agreement back then. Was it really just to repay debts? Is it worth making yourself so miserable and humiliated?”

Elijah stopped mid–sentence, his eyes filled with sincerity as he continued, “Sheena, I know I’ve said hurtful things before. From now on, you can scold me every day to vent, and I won’t argue back. I’ll repay you everything that I owe you, even if it’s just a sentence. Will you give me one last chance?”
