Amber was ticked off by Liam’s behavior.

“What on earth does he want by blocking my way and not talking? Is he trying to come up with a new way to humiliate me?” she wondered.

Amber decided not to waste any more time on him. Looking annoyed, she leaned forward to reach for the door handle.

She knew touching his body was inevitable because he was standing right in front of the door. However, she was too desperate to leave the place to be bothered by that.

Liam caught a whiff of her pleasant scent when her body brushed against his.

Before his brain could stop him, his hand reached out to her wrist and held it in a tight grip.

“What’re you doing?” Amber shot him a furious glare.

Something was glimmering in his eyes when he stared at her. With urgency in his voice, he said, “I’d like to add an extra clause into the agreement. From now on, you are prohibited from taking part-time jobs without my permission. To make up for your loss, I’ll give you an extra 20 thousand dollars as compensation every month.”

Amber was stunned to hear that. “Is he negotiating a new deal with me?” she wondered.

“Please don’t forget that you’re my fiancée, though only in name. Everything you do has to be appropriate for your status.” Liam’s voice was calm, but his contempt toward Amber was palpable.

He was insinuating that Amber’s appearance at the bikini show was a disgrace to him!

Apparently, he did not think a woman like Amber was good enough for him. “Signing that agreement with me must have been his last resort back then. I bet he wouldn’t have done it if he had not been so desperate to salvage his reputation at that time,” Amber thought.

With a smile, she countered, “What if I say no?”

Liam found himself being turned on by that smile on her face.
