Isobel didn't want to go to the hospital, so Eduard had to send her home.
That slap seemed to exhaust all of Isobel's strength. She fell asleep after taking a bath.
Eduard looked at the person who was already asleep on the bed. There were a lot of words he wanted to say, but there was no one to listen.
He sighed, and then leaned over to touch her forehead. After confirming that her temperature wasn’t abnormal, he closed the door and went to the living room.
Isobel slept deeply but not well.
She had a lot of weird dreams. For a while, she dreamed of her father buying her candy when she was a child, and then she dreamed of her mother, who was a gambling addict, coming to ask for money. After a while, she dreamed of Kit and Martha patting her face and telling her not to be smug.
In the end she dreamed of Hamish. He stood in a big fog and looked at her.
She wanted to catch up and ask him if he ever had feelings for her after all these years. But no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't reach him.
After opening her eyes, Isobel realized that she was dreaming.
The curtains in the room were not opened. Inside the room, the light was faint, and it was dark.
She looked at the white ceiling for a while, then got up and opened the curtains.
The sun was bright enough at seven o’clock in the morning in the summer.
With the sunshine in, the room suddenly became bright.
Isobel went out to the living room to find out that Eduard didn’t leave last night. He didn’t wake up yet. Seeing his cramped figure on the sofa, she felt a bit bad.
Eduard woke up as soon as she walked over.
The sunlight in the living room was a bit dazzling. Eduard narrowed his eyes and turned to look at her. "Do you feel unwell?"
Isobel shook her head. She poured two cups of warm water and handed him one. "Thank you for last night."
