‘Ordinary Friends', that was the reason that had caused a wave of discomfort for Isobel Lewis after she said that. However, she did not think it was a problem as she was not involved in the social circle.

The only thing that had affected her was the interview she had a week ago. She thought that she was doing well during the interview. Yet, she still had not received any confirmation after she was asked to wait for the results.

Isobel knew that Hamish Francis was the only person in City N who could make it difficult for her to make any move.

Martha Sutton was probably involved, to add fuel to the flame.

After Isobel had realized this, she stopped going to the interview.

She had quite a lot of money in her hands now. If she did not spend extravagantly, she could rest assured without anxiety for the rest of her life.

“Ms. Lewis, the old master Francis wishes to invite you to the Francis family for a visit.”

Isobel looked at the middle age man in front of her and pressed her lips, “Please wait for a moment, Mr. Knight.”

Leon Knight nodded, “Sure.”

Leon was very polite as if he was really inviting her to the Francis family for a visit only.

However, Isobel knew that these people were wolves in sheep’s clothing.

This wasn’t the first time that Gabriel had asked to meet her. Gabriel had asked Leon to ‘invite’ her to the Francis family a long time ago when she was just in a relationship with Hamish.

That was her first visit to the Francis family. At that moment, she felt like a fish out of water, after looking at the Francis family’s grandiose villa. She felt that there was a huge gap of difference in social standing for the first time.

That time Gabriel didn’t say a lot of things. He only asked about her situation. Upon knowing that her father was paralyzed in bed, Gabriel was actually kind enough to introduce her to a specialist to do a check-up.

After he knew that she was still studying in university, Gabriel even asked about her future plans. He also asked whether she wanted to study over-broad. If she had this thought, he could talk to the chancellor of the university.

Gabriel gave her a gift of calligraphy before she left. Gabriel was also a calligrapher. He seldom wrote calligraphy after he became wealthy. His calligraphy could easily worth more than a hundred thousand.

Gabriel didn’t do anything that day. He was kind enough but it had crushed her pride into pieces.

Hamish didn’t know they had met. However, after this, she started to realize the distance between her and Hamish.

3 years, 1099 days. She didn’t know how she went from someone with low self-esteem to someone who naively believed that love could conquer all.

Isobel changed into a simple knit long dress and a short jacket. Then, she went out.

“Ms. Lewis is really getting prettier and prettier.”

Upon hearing his compliment, she only smiled.

Everyone in the Francis family was like beasts that covered themselves with human skin.

She felt that Gabriel wanted to meet her this time wasn’t only to crush her pride like 3 years ago.

When the car was stopped, Isobel tilted her head to look at the car window.

The villa of the Francis family was still grand after 3 years.

She might not have a chance to get into this kind of place in her entire life if it wasn’t because of Hamish.

Leon walked towards to open the car door for her. Then, he guided her to get in.

Not many people were at the Francis family on a normal working day. Isobel was quickly brought in front of Gabriel’s study room.

Leon knocked on the door, “old master, Ms. Lewis is here.”
