Stanley looked at her for a while, before he sighed, "Forget it, you already know enough, I don't think it makes a difference if you know this as well."

He said, and paused for a while, "You know before your father died, Hamish went to see him?"

When Isobel heard that, her face went pale, "How did you know?"

"It was a coincidence, some of my people went by there, and you know that Hamish's car is easy to identify, so they saw it immediately."

Stanley said, and looked at her with squinted eyes, "Your father has been paralyzed for so many years, why would he suddenly die? I don't think I need to tell you more, you can figure out yourself who did that."

Isobel didn't answer to that, she didn't know what she could even say.

That day, the nurse went out to buy some groceries, and when she got back, her father had already died. When Isobel got the phone call and rushed to the house, her father was already cold.

Thomas had been chained to the bed for so many years, he couldn't speak, neither could he move, he just laid on the bed like a dead person for ten years.

Sometimes Isobel would think that it wasn't too bad he died, at least he won't be in pain anymore.

But that day, when she knew that he died, she suffered a lot.

Thomas had always loved her, before the accident happened, he had promised her that if she did good on her finals, he would take her to Beijing to see the snow.

She never thought that within one night, everything changed.

Her family was destroyed, and to pay the debts, they had finished all of their savings, even their house had to be sold.

But even in that situation, Amanda and Isobel were positive, they always felt that Thomas would recover, always...

And then, for some reason Amanda got addicted to gambling, they were deep in debts, and to pay all that back, she had to take multiple jobs, working 18 hours a day.

She always thought that meeting Hamish was a fortune for her, she never thought, that this was all his plan.

He was the reason to cause her family to break, for her to have no home.

Isoble had never suffered so much before, it felt as if someone ripped open her wounds, and sprinkled salt in it.

It was really quiet in the room, neither her nor Stanley spoke a word.

After a long time, she wiped off the tears on her face, "Thank you, Mister Shaw, I got something else to do, I will leave now."

"Let me escort you."

"No, thank you."

As she spoke, she ran into the couch.

Stanley walked over to support her, "Don't pretend to be strong, as a girl you are allowed to be weak."

Isobel didn't speak, but she also didn't deny, and allowed Stanley to walk her out.

The two of them ran into Hamish and Freddie in the elevator, Stanley raised his brow, and looked at Hamish, "What a coincidence, Mister Francis."

Hamish threw a look at him, then, his gaze landed on Isobel's face, and when he saw her red eyes, his brows knitted, his eyes darkened.

Freddie saw Isobel, and was startled, he asked her, "Isobel, are you alright?"

Then he looked at Hamish next to him, whose eyes were showing uncountable emotions, but mainly, it was pain.

She didn't say anything, and only stared at him, her red eyes were tearing up, and then, the tears finally ran down her cheeks, and dripped down at her chin.

Freddie's heart skipped a beat, he wanted to ask her more, but in that moment, the elevator door opened, and Stanley walked Isobel out.

They watched the two of them walk away, and Freddie turned to Hamish to say, "She seems as if she is suffering."

When Hamish heard him say that, he knitted his brows, but the next second, he said, "That's none of my business."

When he said that, he left the elevator.

Freddie paused for a little, then he caught himself again, and snorted, "Alrighty, Mister Francis is a coldblooded animal, I should feel ashamed of my inferiority."
