What Separates Me and You novel Chapter 110

Chapter 110 A Strange Person

Lewis said without looking up, “Of course, we have to transfer it. Otherwise, we can’t continue with the plan.”

The man was baffled but quickly nodded. “I understand. I will send someone to transfer the money later.”

“Okay,” Lewis replied.

After Daphne left, she gave Seth a call. Seth had not returned home since the company went into trouble, so she had not seen him for days. She had to call twice before Seth finally picked up. Hearing Seth’s voice on the phone, Daphne’s face lit up with joy as she asked, “Seth, where are you? Can we meet?”

Seth smirked and replied monotonously, “What’s wrong? Is there something going on?”

She whined softly, “Can’t I call you when there’s nothing wrong? But I do have something to say this time. It’s about that project. Come over. I have good news for you.”

“Oh?” Seth’s voice raised with a teasing tone.

Daphne furrowed her brows, puzzled as to why he wasn’t more concerned after making such a massive mess. Instead, he appeared to be cool and composed. Daphne suppressed her confusion and said, “Where are you now? I’ll come to see you.”

“I’m currently at the office. Please come here.”

Daphne hummed in response and hung up the phone. She then drove straight to Alvarez Corp. She did not head up to Seth’s office because there were too many people in the company, and saying certain things in their presence would be inappropriate. As such, she dialed Seth’s number and requested him to come down.

Just within five minutes, Seth walked out of the building. He was dressed in his usual tuxedo, with medium-length soft curls and a faint smile on his lips. It was as if he was a prince who came out of a fairy tale.

They had been married for two years, yet Daphne would still blush, and her heart would race every time she saw him. Her heart fluttered when she saw his emotionless face after not seeing him for a few days. She longed to see a glimmer of emotion on his face, a sign of him wanting something. If he had no desires at all, such a person would be the toughest to control.

Seth walked naturally toward the passenger side. He opened the door and sat in the passenger

seat.

“What do you want to tell me?” he asked as he smiled at Daphne.

Daphne stared at him in a trance for a few seconds before she snapped out of it. She then held Seth’s hand and said, “I was going to console you, but you seem alright, so there’s no need for

me to give those meaningless words of consolation.”

Seth chuckled and replied, “What could go wrong with me?”

Daphne frowned. “How can you be fine? I know how much money the company had lost this time. The media can hardly hide it now, and those who have caught wind of it are already starting to sell their stocks.”

Seth nodded and said, “I know. It is a wise choice to sell off their stocks now.”

“You…Do I sound like I’m discussing stocks with you? I’m talking about your funds!” Daphne felt a little frustrated. She could not tell if he was pretending to be dumb or genuinely did not understand.

Seth stayed calm and collected as he withdrew his hand. He smiled lightly and said, “Go ahead. I’m listening.”

Daphne looked at her empty hands, and her heart sank a little. She suppressed the odd feeling in her heart and said, “I just want to tell you not to worry. I will help you.”

Seth’s expression did not change when he heard that. He continued looking at her with a smile and answered, “It’s unnecessary, but thank you.”

Daphne bit her lip. Although he was smiling at her, she still felt upset for no reason.

“Okay. I will help you fill the financial void. Trust me,” Daphne said seriously.

Seth’s expression changed slightly when he heard she wanted to help him fill in the lost money. “Fill the financial void? What do you mean?”

“You don’t need to worry about it. Since I said I would help you, you can trust me to keep my word,” Daphne said sullenly.

Unexpectedly, Seth grabbed her wrist, and his voice became cold as he said, “Tell me the truth. What have you

done?”

His grip was strong, and Daphne’s brows knitted in pain. “What are you doing? You are hurting me!”

Seth seemed to notice this and released her wrist. Regaining his composure, he said, “Sorry.”

Daphne rubbed her wrist and looked at him suspiciously.”You are a strange person. You don’t panic when you’re in trouble, but you get so nervous when I say I’ll help you. What are you thinking?”

Seth looked at her ambiguously. He held her hand again and said softly, “Daphne, what did you do? Please tell me. I don’t need your help, and I don’t want to see you fall into danger.”

Daphne shook her head. “Don’t worry. I’ll be fine. I can solve this.”

Seth focused intensely on her as if he wanted to see through her. “Really?”

“Of course, it’s true. I came here to tell you this. I don’t want you to worry too much, and… Please come home. Bambam and I walt for you every day.” Daphne felt a sense of grievance, and tears welled up in her eyes. Normally tenacious, she appeared humbler than ever in front of Seth, to the extent that she seemed as fragile as a kitten.
