What Separates Me and You novel Chapter 113

Chapter 113 Take the Pills to Avoid Pregnancy

Josephine stood still as she heard Lewis’ words. Josephine suddenly realized what was going on. Lewis hadn’t brought her here out of kindness for her. He simply desired even greater control over her.

Given the exorbitant medical bills, Josephine wondered who could bear such a financial burden. The only person who could afford it was Lewis. She would have to play the part of an obedient pet, bowing to his every command, to get the treatment Mrs. Jinkins needed. She realized she would bear the guilt of Mrs. Jinkins’ death if she did not choose treatment.

He didn’t offer her much of a choice. It was obviously a threat.

Josephine raised her head slowly and glanced at Lewis’ face. He remained calm and composed, in perfect command of everything. How could he not be collected?

She clenched her fists and closed her eyes before nodding. Lewis stretched out and stroked her cheek.

“Alright, we’ll treat her,” he responded indulgently.

Josephine opened her eyes and smiled at him. For a fleeting moment, the radiant lights of the hallway illuminated her reddened eyes, casting a soft glow upon her, making her docile and cute. It was as if everything had returned to its normal state. However, her gaze no longer held that lingering affection when she turned her eyes toward him.

Lewis’ fingertips crept up to the corner of her eye and wiped away the tears. He said, “I will hire a nurse to look after her. Let me know if you want to visit her, and I’ll take you here. Remember this, okay?”

Josephine nodded and gestured, “I understand.”

“Come on, let’s go back.” Lewis withdrew his hand and turned to leave. Josephine silently followed behind him, and soon, they arrived at the parking lot.

Just as they got into the car, Lewis’ phone rang. No one would call him at this hour of the night but Sierra. Lewis pulled out his phone, switched it off, and slipped it back into his pocket. He then shifted his gaze to Josephine.

“Do you think you need to get examined?” he inquired.

Josephine was slightly taken aback. She pursed her lips and shook her head as she gestured, ” No need.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes, I’m fine. I just fainted because I was hungry,” Josephine signed.

Lewis glanced at her and thought for a moment but did not insist on her being checked out. He

started the car and drove back home. Instead of going to his study when they arrived, he followed her to bed.

He held her tightly. Whenever they went to sleep, he would hug her tightly like this. Josephine rested her cheek on his chest, listening to his heartbeat. Her long eyelashes fluttered and swept over his smooth chest as she gazed at it. His hand, which had been on her waist, slipped

under her shirt.

Joesphine tensed up. Then she heard Lewis’ voice above her head. “Have you been taking the pills these past few times?”

Josephine looked up and found his gaze pinned on her. She shook her head. There was no need for the pills anymore. The doctor informed her that if she couldn’t abstain from intimate activities for a month, it would be difficult for her to conceive again. After engaging in intercourse numerous times, the chances of getting pregnant seemed highly unlikely.

Lewis fixed his gaze on her as if attempting to read her mind. He lowered his head and pressed his nose against hers. He asked, “Do you want to have a baby?”

They were so close that their breaths intertwined. Josephine subconsciously squeezed her fingers, and her lips were pressed together tightly, almost forming a straight line. After a while, she shook her head slowly.

Lewis’ eyes darkened, and he asked again, “You really don’t want to?”

Josephine shook her head again.

The next thing she knew, he bit her lips as if to punish her. She felt a stinging pain and tasted blood. Lewis only let go of Josehpine’s lips when he noticed blood. Then, he reached out to wipe away the bloodstains at the corner of her mouth and said, “Take the pills if want to get pregnant.”

Josephine lowered her gaze and nodded.

you don’t

Suddenly, Lewis lifted the covers and sat up. He grabbed his robe and put it on before he got off the bed and left the room. He never came back.

The next morning, Josephine awoke to find the spot next to her still vacant. She got out of bed and washed up before going to the kitchen to make breakfast. She proceeded to knock on the study door after setting up the table. However, the door was not properly closed, so it swung open as soon as she knocked on it.

To her surprise, he had not departed. He slept on the couch the night before. He could fit on the sofa, but one of his legs had to rest on the floor. His black robe had fallen on the floor, exposing his chest and legs. She had to admit that the sight was irresistible. Other women would salivate if they were to witness this.

Josephine walked over and poked his shoulder. Lewis abruptly opened his eyes and looked up at her. She gestured, “It’s time to eat.”

He merely remained still and stared at her. She wore pink fluffy pajamas and had a cartoon bear apron over it. Her hair was tied up casually behind her, with a few strands falling over her

shoulders.

Time seemed to stand still as the light from outside cast a lovely beam on her. Josephine was about to make another gesture when she noticed his lack of movement. However, to her astonishment, he suddenly grabbed her wrist and forcefully pulled her onto him.

He asked, “What are we eating?”

Josephine wanted to get up to gesture, but he held her tightly, so she could not move. His eyes were fixated on her as if he was about to devour her, making her feel nervous. Josephine hurriedly retrieved her phone from her pajama pocket and showed him the time. It was almost nine o’clock.

Lewis took a glance at the screen and let her go. Josephine regained her freedom, scrambled to her feet, and dashed out of the study. Lewis sat up on the couch and stared at the fleeting figure. His gaze flickered.
