Chapter 159 How Did You Seduce Him
Josephine was reluctant about this. Although she grew up under Robert’s provision, she rarely interacted with him as far as she could remember. In Robert’s eyes, she was just like thin air. Robert gave her the impression that he was a solemn and strict person. She feared getting fired if she did not perform well under him.
“Josephine?” Sophia called out to her.
Upon hearing that, Josephine snapped back to reality and grimaced. She grabbed the pen on the table, signed the document, and handed it over. Sophia took the paper and glanced at it before she said, “Start packing your things now and head upstairs to report for duty.”
Josephine nodded and went to her workstation to pack her things. She only started to work a while ago, so she had little to take with her, and they did not even fill a small box. Josephine carried her documents and took the elevator to the top floor.
To her surprise, it was much quieter on this floor than the previous floor where she worked. It was empty everywhere, and there was no one around. A ray of sunlight shone past the window, casting a chilly that reflected off the ground.
Although Josephine was wearing ballerina flats, the sound of her footsteps could still be faintly heard as she walked. She took a deep breath and headed toward the office in the middle. Just as she lifted her hand to knock on the door, it opened.
Conrad walked out with a file in his hand and asked, “Madam?”
Josephine was also shocked to see Conrad. She instinctively looked inside the office but could not see anything as Conrad was blocking the entrance.
Conrad noticed the box in her hands and asked, “Madam, did you get transferred here?”
Josephine nodded. She did not know the location of her new workstation.
Conrad had no idea as well, so he laughingly said, “You should head in and ask Mr. Alvarez to assign you a workstation.”
Josephine’s heart skipped a beat. Although Robert was an Alvarez, she had the impression that Conrad was referring to Lewis when he said “Mr. Alvarez.”
Conrad added, “Anyway, this is good. There’s not much for you to do here, so working here should be easier.”
It didn’t matter to her where she was stationed. Work would always be easy for her because she was clueless about everything. It would be easier to work here because no one cares, and she would have more freedom.
Josephine tightened her grip on the box as she nodded, indicating that she understood. Conrad did not say more and turned to leave. He was really busy. These few days had been

nothing but hectic for him.
After he left, Josephine raised her hand and knocked at the door. She soon realized that the door was not shut tight, and it opened when she knocked on it. Josephine looked around the office. Her eyes flickered as she saw the bookshelf on the left.
That man who had announced that he lost his job was standing right in front of the bookshelf now. He was wearing a black shirt with a gray vest on top of it. She was facing the back of his tall figure. He was flipping through some documents in his hands.
Josephine had no words for what she was feeling at the moment. What he said was not a lie because he was, in fact, no longer the president, but “Chairman’s Office” was written on the
door.
Just as Josephine was perturbed, Lewis suddenly turned his head. Josephine met his gaze, and her heart missed a beat. She walked in with the box in her hands and stopped in front of Lewis.
Lewis swept his gaze through her face, then lowered his head and continued looking at the documents in his hands. Josephine stood at the side and quietly waited for him to finish reading. It took him about ten minutes to flip through them all. He closed the file and looked at Josephine again. His gaze stopped at the box in her hands, and he said, “Get rid of the trash. you are holding.”
Josephine was taken aback. She lowered her head to look at the box in her hands. These were her study materials. There were also a few pens and a cup. How was this trash? But since he commanded it, Josephine could only walk out silently with the box in her hands.
Little did she expect a strong grip to yank her back in the next second. Lewis snatched the box from her hands and threw it away casually. It landed in a larger box with a loud thud, joining a hodgepodge of miscellaneous items, primarily files and folders.
Josephine stood bewildered before him and gestured, “What do I need to do?”
The man stared at her attentively. After a while, he said, “You don’t need to do anything.”
Perplexed by his actions, Josephine momentarily froze in place as she locked her eyes on him.
“Simply stay with me, always,” he said.
Josephine grimaced. She did not understand what he meant. He hated her but still wanted her to stay by his side. She gestured, “Do you not…”
Lewis raised his brow as he waited for her to finish gesturing.
Josephine remained silent for a while before she continued to gesture, “Do you not hate me?”
Lewis asked her back, “Is there any conflict between the two?”
Josephine was speechless. Indeed, there was no conflict between hating her and wanting her to follow him around. After all, he loved Sierra, but he never committed to marrying her. However, his words also exposed his hatred toward her.
Josephine looked up at Lewis with a heavy heart and gestured, “Sorry.”
He leaned over. He raised his hands and rested them against the bookshelf, positioned just beside her ears. He asked, “Sorry? Explain to me, what are you sorry about?”
Josephine gestured, “I caused you to hate me.”
Lewis’ eyes narrowed. He abruptly grabbed her chin and pressed her against the bookshelf. He questioned, “Isn’t your apology too worthless?”
Josephine bit her lip and signed, “Then, what should I do?”
Lewis gently touched her face. His fingers slid over every inch of her skin, leaving a cold sensation. He leaned closer, as if he was about to kiss her, but he stopped half an inch away from her lips and said, “You know very well how to seduce a man, don’t you?”
Josephine’s eyes flickered, and she felt suffocated. The space between them held a paradoxical mix of flirtation and detachment. Despite being within arm’s reach, it felt as if he was distantly removed, creating an invisible barrier between them.
He continued, “Seth still came rushing to save you, although he was crippled. Tell me, how did you seduce him?”
