Chapter 82 Three Days
Seeing Sophia give her an indifferent look, Sierra almost went mad.
She was a domineering figure in the company; even Conrad had to show some respect toward her. However, Sophia did not give a damn about Sierra, so the woman was now classified as Sierra’s number one rival, along with Josephine.
Sophia seemed to have not noticed Sierra at all, and her anger surged as she felt ignored. ” Lewis, why did you bring her but not me?” Sierra asked.
Only then did Sophia look at Sierra and say, “Miss Woods, if you can share the workload with me, that would be great. President Alvarez, how about letting Sierra handle the negotiation?”
Sierra choked. She didn’t know anything about negotiations. What was she supposed to do? Lewis stood and comforted her, saying, “Alright, stop fighting, both of you. I’m only going for three days, so please stay home and rest well, okay?”
She pouted and glared at Sophia, feeling an unprecedented challenge from her simper.
Without saying much, Lewis walked out, and Sophia trod on his heels.
Sierra glanced at Conrad and asked irritably, “Why aren’t you going?”
“There’s no need for me to go.”
“So, it’s just the two of them going on this business trip?” Sierra’s blood was boiling as she asked.
Conrad gave her a nod. “Yes.”
“Bitch,” Sierra muttered.
She was a weak bully who dared not confront Sophia head-on because of the woman’s strong business skills and importance to Lewis. If Sierra continued to throw tantrums, he would not side with her.
Conrad could not stop himself from taking a closer look at Sierra.
Every time he saw her, Conrad wondered what Lewis saw in her. There were so many beautiful women in the world; how on earth could one fall in love with such a bimbo who had no self- awareness?
He even thought that Sophia was better than Sierra. But if Lewis ended up with Sophia, Josephine would stand no chance.
Conrad had worked with Sophia for so long, and she was a vixen who was intelligent and resourceful in every aspect that hardly anyone could outsmart her.
Sierra seemed right to call her a bitch.
Lewis was gone for only three days, and Josephine was also locked up for three days.
Fear was no longer the issue at hand. Even a normal person couldn’t handle hunger for a day, let alone Josephine, who was already weak as a kitten.
She had already lost consciousness in the dark room on the second day and was completely unresponsive.
She slowly opened her eyes, still groggy from fainting earlier. The hunger pangs had subsided, but she realized she could not move her arms or legs.
She shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts. As her awareness slowly returned, she surveyed her surroundings. The bright light made her feel uneasy.
This was a bedroom, but not the one she was familiar with.
Suddenly, Josephine panicked. She tried to stand up, only to realize that she was rooted to the spot. She felt a tightness around her body and looked down to see that her hands and feet were tied to the chair.
Josephine struggled to break free, but the ropes were tied too tightly. She struggled until the skin on her wrists and ankles was rubbed raw, but she still couldn’t escape.
Finally, she realized that she had been kidnapped.
But who could it be?
Josephine looked around. It was so quiet that she thought she had gone deaf.
Lewis returned from his business trip and headed straight for the storage room. But when he reached the entrance, he saw that the door was damaged and about to collapse.
The light shining through the doorway illuminated the dusty floor. A section had been wiped clean as if someone had drawn an irregular circle amid the dirt.
Here, Josephine’s posture on the ground could be seen. Scratches were faintly visible on the damaged door, and the paint on the door panel had been clawed off in places.
Lewis’ gloomy expression made Conrad feel uneasy. He stole a glance at his face and was in a state of nerves.
Lewis had not visited Josephine for the last three days; afraid he would relent if he saw her suffering. Since Lewis didn’t care, Conrad felt there was no need for him to worry,
“President Alvarez, it seems someone has taken Madam away. I’ll investigate,” Conrad said.
Lewis then went to the living room, where he saw a divorce agreement. Josephine’s signature
was on it.
Without saying a word, he instinctively ripped up the divorce agreement and threw it away, scattering bits of paper all over the floor.
Lewis scanned the area again and found no useful clues besides the divorce agreement.
“Check the surveillance footage now,” he ordered.
“Yes, sir.”
There was surveillance outside the mansion, so it would be easy to find out who had been there.
In less than twenty minutes, Conrad handed Lewis the surveillance footage of the mansion’s surroundings.
“Hmm…” He hesitated. Conrad silently looked at the surveillance footage and had a vague feeling that there was going to be an appalling amount of bloodshed.
Lewis played the surveillance footage and saw that someone had indeed come. It was Avery who had taken Josephine away when leaving.
He acted like nothing was wrong and slid the progress bar to the end, where Avery’s car went out of sight. The area was a blind spot for the surveillance camera, so nothing could be seen after that.
At the exact same moment, Tyler called him.
Lewis caught a glimpse of the caller ID and glanced at Conrad, who was shaking in his shoes. Undoubtedly, he was the one who informed Tyler after checking the footage, so the man had
seen it too.
The phone rang for a long time before Lewis finally answered and put it on speaker mode, placing his phone on the coffee table.
“Lewis, I’ll give you an explanation for this matter. I can’t reach Avy right now, but I feel that there’s something fishy going on.”
