When Her Death Couldn't Break Him novel Chapter 1089

Chapter 1089 You Smell So Good
As expected, Jessica shut her mouth.

If Elena were to see her harming Nathaniel, she would be driven out, and gone were her chances to marry Nathaniel.

Cecilia couldn't be bothered to argue with her. “Behave yourself. If there's a next time, a slap is the least of your worries.”

She returned to her room to continue sleeping.

The following day, when morning arrived, Nathaniel was still asleep.

The doctor came to examine him.

“The external injuries Mr. Nathaniel sustained have mostly healed,” the doctor informed her. “However, the damage to his brain is unlikely to improve.”

Cecilia's expression shifted to one of deep concern. What had once been merely blindness had now escalated to cognitive impairment, leaving her heart heavy with worry.

He was once a capable man, but now, he was suffering.

After the butler saw the doctor out, only Cecilia and Nathaniel were left in the room. Cecilia was preparing to leave for work when Nathaniel grabbed her hand again.

Before she could even react, Nathaniel suddenly pulled her into his embrace. “You smell so good. I want a hug,” he said, much like a child would.

Tears welled up in Cecilia's eyes instantly. “Nathaniel, do you remember me? I'm Cecilia.”

Nathaniel didn't seem to comprehend her words. He just held her close, closing his eyes in peace.

“I want to go home. Would you take me home?” he asked.

Cecilia's sorrow intensified. “Go home? To where exactly?”
