Joanna’s face turned red and hot as she listened to what Avery said while standing next to her.
“We’re all embarrassed when you say that.” Mrs. Picard sighed that Avery was just like what her daughter said, she had no airs at all, and she was full of enthusiasm and vitality, not like a wealthy lady at all.
“What’s there to be embarrassed about! Joanna is really a very nice girl! Our whole family likes her very much.” Avery said.
Joanna brought a chair over for Avery to sit on.
Avery sat down and looked at Joanna: “Joanna, Hayden didn’t go home to sleep yesterday, was he accompanying you in the hospital?”
Avery asked this because she wanted to determine where her son and Joanna had progressed.
Joanna immediately shook her head: “No. He said there is a house near the hospital, and he should live there.”
Joanna couldn’t lie.
If she did not tell Avery where Hayden slept last night, Avery would speculate wildly and possibly return to Hayden to inquire.
So Joanna simply told Avery to make Avery feel at ease.
“He does seem to have a house near this hospital. I almost forgot if you didn’t tell me!” Avery laughed loudly, “Joanna, you see, he even told you this, which means he didn’t take you seriously as an outsider.”
Joanna blushed even more.
If Avery knew that Joanna and her mother were living in that villa now, she didn’t know how she would react.
“My son has been boring since he was a child, especially when it comes to dealing with outsiders. He is not very flexible. But he is still very clever in doing things, but he doesn’t like to deal with interpersonal relationships. Joanna, I can see that he still likes you a little. If you can take the initiative, maybe the two of you can succeed!” Avery took Joanna’s hand and pinned her hopes on her.
Outside the ward door.
Hayden came to see Mrs. Picard with Gia in his arms.
