Seeing that Lucas was more persistent, Hazel didn’t say anything more.
Hazel: “I trust you.”
Lucas: “What do you believe in me?”
“I believe you will be very powerful in the future. At least you will be more powerful than you imagined.” Hazel boasted, “It is meaningless for us not to compare ourselves with others. We live for ourselves, not to meet other people’s expectations.”
Lucas: “I don’t have such high ambitions.”
Hazel: “You don’t need to be too ambitious! I know what you’re thinking, you’re afraid that you won’t be good enough for me, and my family will object, aren’t you?”
Lucas did not speak.
Hazel: “My parents are not like that. You may not believe me when I tell you this. When there is a suitable opportunity, I will take you to meet them. Even if we are just ordinary friends, you can still meet my parents!”
“Let’s talk about it later!” Lucas picked up the water glass and took a sip of water.
Hazel: “Well. Anyway, we are still young, so don’t worry.”
After dinner, it was half past nine.
There were significantly fewer cars on the road.
“I’ll take you back to the hotel.” Lucas said.
Hazel shook her head and said, “I’m too full; I want to take a walk. You walk with me.”
