Chapter 97
Summer just got out of school all happy and bubbly, with a little backpack bouncing along as he dashed out of the gate.
That backpack was a gift from York, who said it was from Rhett. Summer treasured it big time.
As he waited in the pickup zone, Summer scanned the area, but there was no sight of Garner.
“Is Uncle Garner running late from work today?” Summer wondered.
“Little bastard.” Milo walked past Summer and shoved him deliberately.
Summer lost his balance and tumbled, and the backpack got scuffed up in the dirt.
Eyes brimming with tears, Summer glared at Milo and tackled him to the ground, fists raised like hammers, warning. “Milo, you’re asking for a beatdown, so back off!”
Milo got the scare of his life and burst into tears.
The teacher rushed over to break it up. And after seeing the Gladstone family heir down on the ground, she pushed Summer away in a frenzy. “Fighting again, huh?”
Summer was on the verge of tears. “He pushed me first!”
The teacher was playing favorites. “Summer, this is low. No class, no home training. Why do you always hit people at school?”
“Yeah, no manners at all.” Others interrupted, dissing Summer.
“Mom!” Milo spotted a luxury car by the road and started bawling for his mom.
Eve came to pick up her son, and seeing him in tears, she strode over quickly, demanding from the teacher, “What happened?”
“It’s Summer… He fought again. Kids from the slums have no manners,” the teacher said with a troubled look, pinning the blame on Summer.
Summer clenched their backpack and kept his head down, silent.
That lady was trouble. He didn’t want to bring any grief to his mom and uncle.
“You again, little bastard. You’re just a no–good brat without a dad. How dare you hit my son! Who do you think you are?” Eve was already fuming over her brother Vincent and her mom’s affair, climbing the social ladder, which made her lose face in their social circle.
She grabbed Summer’s collar and was about to slap him. “Today, I’ll teach you a lesson on behalf of your lowlife mom.”
“Ah!” Before Eve’s hand could land, someone kicked her from behind.
Eve almost lost her balance and turned around in shock.
The nearby teachers and parents were also stunned. Who the heck had kicked the heiress of

The RitzGerald family?
Weissa? Are you out of your mind? Eve screamed once she saw who it was.
Looking discusted Melissa shrugged and glanced down at her canvas shoes. “Gosh. I should’ve wom stilettos today. Would’ve kicked you to oblivion.”
groting Eve’s shock Melissa reached out to Summer. “Hey, handsome, I’m here to pick you
Summer’s eyes went wide with tears, and he ran to Melissa. “Ms. Hottie.”
You What’s your deal with him?” Eve was shocked. What was the relationship between Melissa and Summer?
Haven’t you heard it? Rich girls should start raising a boyfriend from kindergarten. I’ll look aber him for eighteen years, then he’ll be my beau Melissa bragged, pointing at Milo. “Tell your little pussy to stay away from our Summer. If she gets handsy again, I’ll break her neck!”
Meissa raised her hand to scare Millo. Terrified Wilo hid behind Eve.
Mic was a cute little thing, all pretty and chubby, except that he was spoiled.
Melissa calling him a “Tittle pussy‘ was a blatant insult.
“Weissa. Don’t you go too far.” Eve clenched her fists. She could handle the Lawrence family. bur Melissa was a loose cannon, and her ex’s family were all lunatics, rumored to kill without binding and Eve didn’t want to mess with them for the time.
Too far?” Weissa laughed and ruffled Summer’s hair. “Next time he bullies you, beat him to a pub. If he ends up crippled. I’ll cover the costs.”
Eve and a few teachers were utterly shocked. Who dared to talk Eke that?
The vibe was intense.
Summer hugged Melissa and glanced at Milo.
Mic, behind Eve was petrified by Melissa
The’s a little bastard. His mom’s a con artist a criminal. He’s just like her, a little thief!” deaned his tears, feeling bold with his mom there.
“My mom’s no con artist! You’re the con artist. Summer shot back, fuming.
“Kids don’t talk like that. You taught him that didn’t you?” Melissa stared at Eve.
Eve furrowed her brows and stayed silent.
“Uite pussy, didn’t you hear about your grandma becoming the other woman? Your mom’s a bastard kid, isn’t she? Know what they call that? Shamelessly clinging to a married man! Does your mom take after your grandma or what?” Melissa didn’t care about her high–society lady image. Her voice boomed.
Chapter 97
The other parents were shocked, watching the showdown between Melissa and Eve.
But Eve’s mom being the “other woman” was common knowledge in Silvergrove City. It was just that nobody dared to mention it because of the FitzGerald family’s reputation.
Eve’s face turned black with rage, her fingers trembling. “Melissa! Shut your mouth.”
“Scared of the truth? Mess with our Summer again, and I’ll call a press conference. Just try me,” Melissa said, picking up Summer and walking away without giving Eve a second glance.
Eve, a grown woman, was trying to hit a child? No way!
She’d never have known how shameless this woman could be if she hadn’t intentionally sent Garner away and decided to pick up Summer.
“Melissa!” Eve was livid, trying to go after her, but the driver held her back. “My lady, let’s get out of here.”
Too many people were around, all with phones out, ready to film. It could go viral in minutes.
Melissa publicly called the FitzGerald family’s heiress, Eve, a mistress‘ daughter, which had shot up the trending searches!
