She played it off like it was nothing, but Dominic knew she was lying.

His fingers moved from between her brows to her shoulder, giving it a gentle pat. “If anything’s wrong, tell me. Got it?”
Jean blinked, then smiled and nodded.
They didn’t say anything more. Once she watched Dominic return safely to his room, Jean turned and headed downstairs.
Dominic was getting more and more gentle with her.
She could feel it, clearly.
