Chapter 339 A Hair’s Breadth from Ruin

“Where is she?”

Johnathan’s expression was terrifying, sending a chill through everyone around him. Mateo and the others were visibly shaken, and Quinn, clearly nervous, stammered, “She was just here! When I left, she was right here!”

Johnathan shot her a sharp glare, as if on the verge of saying something, but Stone quickly intervened. “Let’s find her first!”

Johnathan swallowed his rage and began searching.

The birthday party was being held at the Treno family’s private estate. It wasn’t huge, but it wasn’t exactly small either.

Stone had already contacted estate security and confirmed that no one had left the premises.

Mateo and Draven were also scouring the grounds.

with every minute that passed, Johnathan’s face grew darker, and tension gripped the rest of them. If something really had

happened….

They didn’t dare follow that thought.

Just as Johnathan was spiraling into panic, he suddenly heard something. He rushed toward the sound without hesitation.

Just as

Mateo and the others exchanged glances before quickly following

They saw Johnathan come to a sudden halt–his body stiffened–then immediately tore off his jacket.

The others couldn’t see clearly, only catching a glimpse of Sierra’s foot. Quinn let out a gasp and cried out, “Sierra!”

As soon as she spoke, Johnathan whipped around and shot her a glare more terrifying than any she had ever seen.

She instinctively stepped back.

Even the others were rattled by Johnathan’s rage. Finally, Stone braced himself and said, “We have to get her to a hospital- now!”

Johnathan scooped Sierra into his arms, and if one looked closely, they’d see his hands trembling

The

group

rushed to the hospital. Johnathan stood outside the emergency room, his expression unreadable.

Maddox arrived after calming the rest of the guests. He was about to ask what had happened when Draven pulled him aside.

Draven shook his head. “Don’t go over just yet.”

No one knew Sierra’s condition yet, and Draven was afraid Johnathan would lash out After all, this happened at Maddox’s

event

“Did you look into it?” Draven asked in a low voice.

All Maddox could hope for now was that Sierra would be okay.

Johnathan didn’t register any of what was happening around him. His eyes remained locked on the emergency room doors, his mind replaying what he had just seen.

“The patient is stable. She’s still unconscious due to traces of drugs in her system. We’ve treated her wounds and examined her. There are no signs of assault, but the injuries are extensive–most likely from struggling. Also, there’s a bite mark on her wrist. We’ve sent the saliva sample for testing, but the results aren’t back yet.”

Before the doctor even finished, Johnathan had already pushed past and gone inside to see Sierra

He had only invited people he trusted–there shouldn’t have been any issues. And yet, something had gone terribly wrong.

Quinn, standing off to the side, began to sob softly.
