Whispers Turn to Whimpers: Could He Ever Change? novel Chapter 1085

"What?"

The room fell silent, so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Everyone was stunned, their eyes wide with disbelief.

Rebecca White was just as shocked, her eyes as wide as saucers, her brow furrowed, biting her lip as she slowly shook her head at him.

"What are you talking about..."

She glanced anxiously at Galloway. "Grandpa, this isn't..."

But Galloway wasn't looking at her. His gaze was fixed intently on Francis.

His old eyes, usually clouded with age, were suddenly sharp and clear.

He asked, "Did you say you're Rebecca's boyfriend?"

"Yes." Francis nodded, bowing slightly. "Grandpa."

He was quick to call him that.

"Mr. Johnson, no need to rush..." Galloway waved him off, refusing the gesture. "But, I haven't heard a word about you from Rebecca."

Francis wasn't upset, just smiled calmly.

"I suppose Rebecca hasn’t had the chance. We’ve only been together for a couple of days. But..."

He continued, "I have visited you before, Grandpa. Do you remember?"

"Did you?" Galloway frowned, struggling to recall.

"Yes, it was the day..."

Francis reminded him, "You were moved from the ICU back to the ward. Rebecca and I came together. You even held my hand and told me to take good care of Rebecca. Does that ring a bell?"

That day...?

Galloway did remember.

But he thought the person was Eddy.

"So it was..." Galloway murmured, "It was you that day?"

"Yes, it was me." Francis smiled and nodded.

"I see..." Galloway mumbled.

With that, he pretty much believed Francis. After all, someone who stayed with his granddaughter during such a critical time couldn't be just anybody.

Meanwhile, Kearney and Faustina snapped out of their stunned silence.
