"Engage, Love."
Naylor was there with Katy, arriving first to greet everyone.
Lately, Katy had been doing better. When she was lucid, she wasn't causing a fuss and could even manage a bit of conversation.
She had practiced for a long time, remembering the name of her future daughter-in-law.
After she said it, she glanced at Naylor for confirmation.
"That's right," Naylor grinned at her. "Katy, you're amazing."
Katy beamed, turning her smile towards Sherilyn and reached out her hand.
"Auntie," Sherilyn quickly stepped forward, taking hold of her hand.
"Hold on."
Katy lowered her head and slipped off a delicate glass-beaded bracelet from her left wrist, gently placing it on Sherilyn's wrist.
"For you."
Sherilyn was taken aback, pleasantly surprised.
She didn't know much about jewelry, but this bracelet was beautiful and clearly expensive.
And anything of Katy's wouldn't come cheap.
"Heh."
Naylor glanced at her, "I got that for you at an auction back in the day. You're really generous."
So it was an antique?
Sherilyn became even more hesitant to accept it, trying to slip it off. "Auntie, it's too valuable..."
"No! It's yours!"
Katy became flustered, not able to say much more, she simply glared at Naylor.
"I didn't say anything."
Naylor surrendered immediately, "Once it's given, it's yours. You can give it to whomever you want."
He cleared his throat and looked at Sherilyn.
"Ahem, if your auntie gave it to you, then just take it."
Katy was thrilled again, clasping Sherilyn's hand and patting it, "Be good with Nine."
