In the cozy glow of their bathroom, Gilbert and Sherilyn were wrapped up in each other's arms, savoring the warmth and closeness.

"Hold on a sec..." Gilbert murmured, his voice still laced with a touch of practicality. He gently extricated himself from Sherilyn and headed out of the shower.

Sherilyn knew exactly what he was off to fetch. It was just a few steps away, tucked neatly in the cabinet beside the sink. They'd made a habit of keeping those essentials in the bathroom, given how often their shared moments happened there.

Gilbert returned shortly, and Sherilyn watched him unwrapping the package with a hint of curiosity. "So... you don't want another kid?" she asked, eyebrow slightly raised.

Since they had gotten back together, they had been careful about such things.

Gilbert paused, taken aback by the question. "That's not really my decision to make, is it? You're the one who'd be carrying and raising the child. It's up to you."

He thought for a moment and added, "But if you want my opinion, I feel like I've missed out on so much of Jenna's early years. I'd like to spend a couple more years focusing on her before we think about another."

They were both still young, especially Sherilyn. She had Jenna quite early, and waiting a bit would actually put her at the ideal age for having another child.

"Of course," Gilbert continued, his tone easygoing, "if you decide you don't want any more kids, just having Jenna would be wonderful too."

"But..." Sherilyn hesitated, surprised by his openness. "What about Mr. Harrison? Would he be okay with that?"

The Harrison family had a long lineage to uphold, after all. Just look at Naylor himself, with his six sons and three daughters.

"Who cares what he thinks?" Gilbert replied with a dismissive shrug. "He's had plenty of kids, but I'm the only one he can truly count on. Having a bunch of kids doesn't guarantee anything."

He added, "Jenna's my daughter, and she'll inherit just like I did from my grandmother... you know, Sylvia Johnson. She was the only girl of her generation in the Johnson family, and they figured it out. So don't worry about the pressure. It's completely your choice whether we have more kids or not."
