"Sherilyn!"
The moment she stepped outside, she saw Gilbert standing at the doorstep, slightly out of breath. Clearly, he had hurried over.
"Sherilyn."
Walking closer, Gilbert took her hand gently, looking at her with a careful gaze.
"Are you... angry with me?"
Sherilyn didn't respond; instead, she pulled her hand away. "Let's not talk here. Let's go."
"Alright."
Gilbert had no objections. This wasn't the place for such conversations.
Once they left the studio and got into the car, Sherilyn closed her eyes and leaned back, signaling she wasn't in the mood for chatting.
A pang of worry shot through Gilbert. She was definitely upset.
"Sherilyn."
Gilbert leaned closer, brushing her hair aside and tucking it behind her ear, revealing the small, delicate pearl earrings she wore - simple yet elegant.
He tried to appease her as he saw her furrowed brows, "Can't you just let it go? I couldn't just ignore her earlier..."
Suddenly, Sherilyn opened her eyes, staring intensely into his.
"Gilbert, have you ever thought about us... breaking up?"
Gilbert was taken aback, his expression quickly darkening. His voice was cold when he spoke.
"Is it that your memory is failing, or are you choosing to forget? When we got back together, you promised not to bring up breaking up so casually!"
"I remember," Sherilyn said, nodding with a bitter smile. "I'm not bringing up breaking up. I'm just asking... when do you plan for us to part ways?"
Seeing her like this, Gilbert felt a mix of heartache and anger, "I've never thought about parting ways!"
He had even considered marriage. Breaking up was out of the question.
"Sherilyn."
