"Eddy..."
Rebecca couldn't see, but she recognized Eddy's voice. Gripping Sherilyn's arm tightly, she instinctively hid behind her friend.
It was Eddy who had taken her sight!
Sherilyn squeezed Rebecca's hand and stepped in front of her, glaring at Eddy. "What are you doing here? Haven't you done enough damage to Rebecca already? You've blinded her! Do you want to be the death of her?"
"What?"
Eddy looked genuinely shocked, a flicker of an undefinable emotion crossing his face. Rebecca was blind?
"Seriously? Let me see..."
He reached out to pull Rebecca towards him.
"No!" Rebecca cried out in fear, stepping back. "Don't touch me!"
This infuriated Eddy, his face contorting in anger. "Don't let me touch you? Rebecca, have you forgotten that I'm your husband? I have every right!"
He grabbed her wrist with precision and pulled her towards him.
"Come here!"
"Ah!" Rebecca stumbled into his arms, trembling with fear. "Let me go, please!"
"Eddy!"
Sherilyn tried to intervene but couldn't hold on, her voice rising in desperation. "What on earth do you want?"
"Stay out of this!"
Eddy gave Sherilyn a cold look, remembering she was Mrs. Gilbert and not someone to trifle with.
"Mrs. Johnson, this is a family matter. I'd advise you to keep out of it!"
With that, he scooped Rebecca into his arms. "We're leaving!"
"No! Where are you taking me?"
"Eddy! Stop!"
But it was futile.
Eddy, a man of strength, easily overpowered the two delicate women.
"Rebecca!"
Sherilyn chased them down to the sidewalk, but to no avail. She watched helplessly as Eddy shoved Rebecca into the car and drove away.
"What do I do? Oh..."
