"Don't you dare!"
Sherilyn was seething, not doubting for a second that this man would follow through on his threats.
"Easy there." Gilbert smirked, "Hop in."
Cornered, Sherilyn furrowed her brows, stating defiantly, "Just so you know, things won't go your way this time!"
"That's for me to worry about." Gilbert raised an eyebrow, helping her into the car, "If you're not going to let me have my way, then don't bother."
He closed the door behind her, driving her to the set.
Thankfully, Gilbert kept his word and didn't accompany her. He was nowhere to be seen the entire day.
However, the attitude of everyone on set towards her had unmistakably shifted.
There was a mix of flattery and caution in their behavior towards her, not to mention the envy and jealousy.
Karol was the most obvious one.
"Sherilyn, here."
During a break, Karol came back with a bottle of water for Sherilyn.
"Thanks." Sherilyn had her own water, but accepted it anyway, "How much? I'll Venmo you."
"Don't worry about it." Karol waved her off, "It's just a bottle of water, practically nothing compared to the dinner at Crimson Table Mr. Johnson treated you to."
She sat down next to Sherilyn, her eyes darting around, "Mr. Johnson is really sweet on you. Is he picking you up today?"
Sherilyn paused, shaking her head, "No, he's not."
"Really? Is he tied up with some business dinner?"
Before Sherilyn could answer, her phone buzzed. It was a message from Edgar.
[Sherilyn, can we meet?]
Before she could respond, another message popped up, this time from Gilbert.
[Sherilyn, I’ll pick you up after.]
Sherilyn frowned, not really wanting to see either of them.
Gilbert was a given, but as for Edgar, she felt there was no need for them to meet either.
But after seeing Gilbert's message, Sherilyn hesitated for a moment before replying to Edgar.
